Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to work under the Indo-German collaborative research project titled : “Identification and validation of key genomic regions associated with high seed micronutrient content in pigeonpea” funded by Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC) under the WISER programme.

Essential Qualification : Post graduate degree in Plant Biotechnology / Bioinformatics / Life Sciences or relevant subjects or Post Graduate degree in professional courses selected through a process described in any one of the following :
1. Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Test CSIR, UGC-NET including lectureship (Assistant professorship) and GATE.
2. The selection process through national level exam conducted by Central government departments and their agencies and institute such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
Desirable Qualification : (a) NET/GATE/DBT/ICMR etc qualified candidates will be preferred.
(b) Experience in genomics, QTL mapping, GWAS, bioinformatics, NGS data analysis, molecular biology techniques is desirable.
(c) Candidates must have excellent communication skills and proficiency in scientific writing, and data analysis/ interpretation.
Age Limit : Up to 30 years on closing date of advertisement.
Fellowship : Rs.. 36,000/- per month inclusive of HRA (NET/GATE or national-level exam qualified candidates) as per IGSTC/DST/GBU norms. Rs. 25,000/- per month inclusive of HRA (For candidates who have not qualified the national-level examinations such as NET/GATE) as per IGSTC/DST/GBU norms.
Fellowship Duration : Three years from the date of appointment or termination of project, whichever is earlier. Extendable each year further based on the performance of fellow.
