National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.

Eligible candidates are invited to attend a WALK-IN-INTERVIEW on the following date sharp at 09:30 a.m. for the following position on the ad hoc research project entitled “Assessment of Safety of Second Hand Glass Bottle by the pharma, food and liquor Industries in Country – a Pilot Study” funded by ICMR at this Institute. The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research has been established under the aegis of Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, Dept. of Pharmaceuticals as a Centre of Excellence in imparting higher education, research and development in pharmaceutical sciences and is the first Institute of its kind in country. The 22 member committee headed by Sri N.R.Sarkar, in its report, recommended the establishment of four Higher Technical Institutions in the Eastern, Western, Northern and Southern regions, possibly on the lines of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, with a number of secondary institutions affiliated to it.
