National Institute of Cancer prevention and research (NICPR) was initially established as Cytology Research Centre (CRC) by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in 1979, and was elevated to the level of an Institute in 1989. It was granted national status in 2016 acknowledging its mandate and contributions towards cancer prevention. The institute has broadened its horizon to cater to prevention of prevalent cancers in the country. The thrust areas of research include pre-cancer and cancers of the uterine cervix, breast and oral cancers.

The Saraswathi College of Pharmacy (SCOP) was established in 2019 with the objective of becoming a center of excellence for Advanced Studies and Research in Pharmaceutical Sciences and with the vision to develop the professionally competent manpower with sound subject knowledge, practical skills and strong ethical value. SCOP has state of art infrastructure, well equipped laboratories, MOU with various pharmaceutical companies to give industrial exposure, industrial visits, and placement to the students.

Banaras Hindu University ranks among the first few in the country in the field of academic and research output. Spread over an area of 5.86 lakh sq. feet, with equipment sourced from global leaders in cancer care, the hospital provides comprehensive yet affordable cancer care to patients in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand and, even, neighbouring countries like Nepal.
