Gokaraju Rangaraju College of Pharmacy (GRCP) was established in the year 2003 by Dr. G. Ganga Raju, in fond memory of his father, Late Sri Gokaraju Ranga Raju, a crusader in the field of education in the West Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh. The mission of GRCP is to impart pharmaceutical education of international standards to our students to help them become pharmacists of the highest caliber, while upholding human values. GRCP strives to provide state-of-art infrastructure. Multi¬speciality faculty continuously review, innovate, experiment teaching methodologies and learning resources and focus on research, training and consultancy, through an integrated institute-industry symbiosis. Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM) set up in 1981, the A.R .College of Pharmacy & G H. Patel Institute in Pharma(ARGH) with generous donation from an industrialist Smt. Anjanaben Ashokbhai Shah and an eminent philanthropist Shri Gordhanbhai Hathibhai Patel. At present the institute imparts education in Diploma, Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral level studies and conducts research in emerging/ thrust areas of Pharmacy. The college has been housed in a three storey building. Currently, the institute functions with a total intake of204 in eight different courses.

Indian Biotechnology Regulations implemented under Rules, 1989 of the Environment Protection Act, 1986 are dynamic and complementing with emerging technologies used for research, product development and progress in science of risk assessment. Government of India has undertaken several reforms in biotechnology regulatory system including the project “Establishment of Biosafety Support Unit (BSU)” with trained and skilled scientists with specialization in relevant scientific disciplines. BSU will assist in scrutiny of applications received for risk assessment and will prepare reports to facilitate decision making by the competent bodies.
