The Maharaja Sayajirao's grandson Sir Pratapsinghrao Gaekwad who founded the Maharaja Sayajirao University and settled the trust as desired by his grandfather. This Trust known as Sir Sayajirao Diamond Jubilee and Memorial Trust exists today also and caters to the educational and other needs of the people of the former state of Baroda. The main object of establishing the Maharaja Sayajirao Univerity of Baroda was, therefore, to provide a distinct type of University-a teaching and residential University which sould have complete freedom in all academic matters and would be free to institute new branches of studies suited to the needs and aspirations of the region in particular and of the country in general.

Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali (Punjab), an autonomous institution of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has been established under the umbrella of NANO MISSION, initiated by DST to boost research and development in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in India. INST started its activities on 3rd January 2013, the date on which its first Director was appointed.

The state's commitment to tackle HIV and AIDS dates to 1992 when KSAPS was established as a cell in the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services and registered as a society in 1997. It has implemented HIV prevention, care and support programs within the framework of NACP-I, II and III with support from NACO. KSAPS built strong partnerships with the government health infrastructure, NGOs and collaborative projects such as the Indo-Canadian Collaborative HIV/AIDS Project (ICHAP), which operated from 2000-2005.

The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is a Comprehensive Cancer Centre with a mission to achieve the highest standards in patient care, cancer prevention, cancer research and professional development for oncology and allied disciplines. TMC is an autonomous body funded, controlled by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. TMC is affiliated to Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). The HBNI is a Deemed University of the Department of Atomic Energy with a mission to develop high quality postgraduate educational programs in science and technology including those related to life and health sciences. National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.

Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, Rampur was established in the year 2006 by an Act of State Legislature of Uttar Pradesh. It is approximately 12 km from Rampur Railway Station. The University caters courses in various streams of Science, Humanities, Law, Education, Commerce, Engineering & Technology, Paramedical Sciences including Nursing, Mass Communication and Agriculture and is almost prepare to start a Medical College named as Jauhar Institute of Medical Sciences (JIMS).

Assam University came into existence through Assam (Central) University Act, 1989 (Act. No. XIII). It was  established in 1994, since then the University is steadily becoming an excellent centre of learning. The campus, situated in Dargakona, about 20 kms from  Silchar, is set amid sprawling hillocks, a typical landscape in the  North East. The campus  in an area of  600 acres surrounded by lakes and mountains provides  an ideal environment for academic pursuit.

Applicants are invited to appear in a walk-in-interview for 1 (one) post of Junior Research Fellow in the DBT (GOI) funded project entitled “Investigating the molecular basis of the anti-parkinsonian effects of Garcinol-a phytoconstituent of Garcinia sp. in animal model of Parkinson’s disease” for a period of two (02) years (may be extended by 1 year).

The Northeastern part of India is well known for its rich biological and cultural diversity. People in the region ate heavily dependent on agriculture and allied activities to meet their livelihood. Highly varied climatic conditions of the region, demands advanced agricultural technologies as well as well trained manpower. Recognizing these regional needs to be urgent, the Government of India, established the Central Agricultural University (CAU) with its headquarters at Imphal, Manipur through the Central Agricultural University Act, 1992, No. 40 dated 26th December 1992. The act passed through the parliament has provision for the establishment of Agricultural Education Institutes in the northeastern states of India, covering the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura.
