DPSRU invites Assistant Professor and Guest Faculty

Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) is the first Pharmacy University in India and third in the world, established by Act 07 of 2008 State legislature of Delhi and functional from 2015. It is 100% grant-in-aid State Government University recognized under 2f and Section 22 of the UGC. The University has the legacy of 57 years starting with the D. Pharm. in polytechnic in 1964 to College of Pharmacy in 1972 and then the institute Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR) in 2004 that got converted into DPSRU as it stands now. The Act, Statutes and Ordinances published by the Government of Delhi are being implemented and the administration is mentored by the General Council with Hon.’ble Lt. Governor as the Chancellor, the Board of Governors, the Academic Council and the Finance Committee having external distinguished personalities as the members. 

DPSRU invites qualified and motivated candidates to appear in the upcoming walk-in interview to be held from 17/08/2026 to 22/08/2026 at Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University.

Assistant Professor positions are offered for 06 months or till the end of the odd semester, whichever is earlier, in the following specializations :
Pharmaceutical Chemistry : 03
Pharmacognosy : 04
Pharmacology : 02
Pharmaceutics and Drug Regulatory Affairs : 04+01
Ayurvedic Pharmacy :  02

Essential Qualification: - A.
i) A Master‘s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
ii) Registered with concerned regulatory body/Council wherever applicable.
iii) Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or the CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET or who are or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with ihe University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time as the case may be exempted from NET/SLET/SET:
Provided, the candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bye-laws/Regulations of the Institution awarding the degree and such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfilment of the following conditions: -
a) The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in a regular mode;
b) The Ph.D. thesis has been evaluated by at least two external examiners;
c) An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
d) The Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work, out of which at least one is in a refereed journal;
e) The candidate has presented at least two papers based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded/supported by the UGC / ICSSR/ CSIR or any similar agency. Note: NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC, like SLET/SET.
The fulfilment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.
Note 1 : NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET /S LI ’T/S I ;T is not conducted bv the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC,like SLET/SET.
The Ph.D. degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (AR WU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).
Desirable : Teaching/Research experience Ph.D. In relevant discipline Quality research evidenced by research publications in high impact Q1 journals (Thomson Reuters only) Research projects as Principal Investigator/Co-principal investigator Patents / Consultancy projects.
Note2 : for Pharmacy subjects the equivalency of subjects shall be as per PCI norms.


Ayurvedic Pharmacy (Bhaislijya Kalpana/Rasa Shastra)
Essential Qualification :
i. MD in Ras Shastra evam Bhaishjya Kalpana/Dravyaguna Vigyan
OR
M.Pharm. in Ayurveda and fulfilling the qualifications of‘A" or k,B". "Note I & 2"
ii. Registered with concerned regulatory body/Council.
Desirable
Teaching/Research experience Ph.D. in relevant discipline
Quality research evidenced by research publications in high impact journals (Thomson Reuters only)
Research projects as Principal Investigator/Co-principal investigator Patents / Consultancy projects.

General Instructions
1. Candidates of only Indian Nationality can apply for these posts.
2. A) Upper age limit for Faculty on Short Term Appointment for UR category: 45 years
*(Age relaxation will be governed as per GNCTD norms for reserved categories)
* For B.Sc. Nursing - Age, Qualifications, Experience etc. as per Indian Nursing Council guidelines.
B) Guidelines relating to recruitment rules shall be followed as per DPSRU Act, 2008 and Statutes as amended from time to time. Reservation policy for SC/ST/OBC (NCL) and EWS shall be as per GNCTD Norms.
C) Upper age limit for Guest faculty is 69 years subject to maximum engagement of 70 years of age.
3. Age will be reckoned on the date of walk-in interview.
4. Consolidated Salary for Faculty on Short Term Appointment is Rs. 89,435/- (not eligible for any other allowance, pension, and gratuity etc).
5. The Honorarium for Guest Faculty will be as per UGC guidelines (No. F. 25-1/2018(PS/MISC.) dated 28.01.2019 i.e. Rs. 1500/- per lecture subject to a maximum of Rs.50,000/- per month, (not eligible for any other allowance, pension, gratuity and leave etc).
6. Candidates should read carefully the requisite essential qualifications, age, experience criteria, etc., laid down in the advertisement before applying for the relevant post. The candidates must satisfy themselves of the suitability for the position to which they are applying. If at any stage during the recruitment and selection process, if it is found that candidates have furnished false or wrong information, their candidature will be rejected. Only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for the interview.
7. a) Interested candidates may attend the walk-in interview along with the digitally filled in application form downloaded from the website along with original proof of date of birth, educational qualification, experience certificates and should also bring set and photocopies of all certificates/documents and 2 passport size photographs.
b) All columns must be filled in the application form, no column should be left blank. Instead, it should be marked as “N.A” wherever not applicable. Manually written applications (except forwarding note) will not be considered.
8. Incomplete applications those without relevant supporting documents (self-attested copies of Date of birth/Degrees/Certificates/Mark sheets/Experience Certificates/documents, etc.) will be rejected.
No TA/DA and accommodation shall be provided for attending the Presentation/Personal Interview.

General Information: -
1. Candidates of only Indian Nationality can apply for these posts.
2. The engagement will be initially for up to 01 year and the maximum duration of service of Professor of Practice will not exceed 03 years and is extendable by one year in exceptional cases and the total service should not exceed 04 vears.
3. Remuneration: Part-time/ Full-time engagement: Consolidated amount, mutually agreed between the institution and expert.
4. The engagement of Professor of Practice will be on full time basis and he/she is not permitted to do any full-time/part-time job outside.

6. The University reserves the right to: (a) Withdraw the advertisement either partly or wholly at any time without assigning any reason to this effect (b) Fill or not to fill up the post advertised for any reasons whatsoever (c) Increase/Decrease the number of posts without giving any reason, (d) Any addition/deletion and changes in matter of terms and conditions given in this notification of recruitment (e) Hold Presentation and/or Interview for selection, whenever circumstances so warrant.

10. After joining the service of the DPSRU, the candidate will have to abide by the Rules, Regulations, Ordinances, Statutes and Act of the DPSRU applicable from time to time. He / She may be assigned any duty within or outside the DPSRU depending upon the exigency of the work. 

11. In case any dispute arises on account of interpretation of clauses in any version of this Advertisement other than English, the English version available on the DPSRU website shall prevail. 
12. Any dispute arising out of this Advertisement including the recruitment process shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts situated at Delhi only. 
13. Canvassing in any form may lead to disqualification of the candidature. 
14. Candidate shall have to produce original testimonials and the original Certificates/Degrees, etc., of the nominees are subject to verification before joining, in case of selection. 
15. The DPSRU will not be responsible for non-receipt of nominations within stipulated period due to any postal delay/loss of nominations/document sent in transit. Late receipt of nominations may not be considered. However competent authority reserves the right to condone the delay due to unforeseen circumstances. 
16. The Vice Chancellor/ The Registrar / Screening Committee reserves the right to shortlist the nominees on the basis of their expertise.
