Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal. The dream of HP government finally came true in 1983 when the foundation stone of this National lab was laid as CSIR Complex Palampur by Prof. Nurul Hasan, former Vice President of CSIR, with then Chief Minister of HP chairing the function.

The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), established in 1987, is an international, intergovernmental organisation conceived as a Centre of excellence for research, training and technology transfer to industry in the field of biotechnology to promote sustainable global development. The Centre conducts innovative research in life sciences and strengthens the research capability of its over 60 Member States through training, funding programs and advisory services.

Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is an autonomous, grant-in-aid research institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Goverment of India. It was established in 1946 by the Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science as MACS Research Institute and renamed as ARI in 1992 in honour and memory of its founder Director, late Professor S.P. Agharkar.

Ministry of Environment and Forests is implementing the World Bank assisted Integrated Coastal Management (ICZM) project through the Society of Integrated Coastal Management (SICOM). SICOM is the National Project Management Unit of the ICZM project. SICOM is located in Delhi and operating in all the coastal states and Union Territories of Government of India. SICOM is inviting applications for the contractual positions on project mode given in the table below.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the following posts on ad hoc research project “Vitamin A Metabolic Pathway on Region - Specific Adipose Tissue Development and its Relevance to Insulin Resistance: A Proteomic Approach to Sexual Dimorphism” The project is funded by DBT and executing agency is NIN. The tenure of the project is upto 21st March, 2018. Applications will be received from the individuals on 22-01-2018 for the following posts between 9:30 A.M. and 10:30 A.M. in Assembly Hall at NIN, Tarnaka, Hyderabad for the Walk-in-Written Test/ Interview.
