The CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur (CSIR-IHBT) is one of the National Institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research which is an Autonomous Body. It is located on a 250 acres of land with the backdrop of snow-covered peaks of Dhauladhar Range in salubrious climate. The Institute is engaged in research and technology development programmes for sustainable management of bioresources of the Himalayas. We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to work as part of the Respiratory team investigating microbiological and immunological responses of healthy adults inoculated with live pneumococcus. The successful candidate will provide assistance to research scientists working on this project. Areas of responsibility will include contributing to the development and delivery of laboratory based research activities and assist with the production and dissemination of research outputs. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a "Deficiency Disease Enquiry" and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged "Nutrition Research Laboratories" (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.
