The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation(CDSCO)under Directorate General of Health Services,Ministry of Health & Family Welfare,Government of India is the National Regulatory Authority (NRA) of India. Its headquarter is located at FDA Bhawan, Kotla Road, New Delhi 110002 and also has six zonal offices,four sub zonal offices,thirteen Port offices and seven laboratories spread across the country. The Drugs & Cosmetics Act,1940 and rules 1945 have entrusted various responsibilities to central & state regulators for regulation of drugs & cosmetics.It envisages uniform implementation of the provisions of the Act & Rules made there under for ensuring the safety, rights and well being of the patients by regulating the drugs and cosmetics.

Post : Junior Scientific Officer

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for appointment to the following post of Junior Scientific Officer in Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory, Chandigarh, Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare on Deputation basis.

Eligibility
Criteria Deputation :
Officers of the Central Government or State Government or Union territory Administrations or autonomous or statutory organisation or public sector undertakings or recognised university or recognised research institution:
(a) (i) holding analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or
(ii) with two years' service rendered after appointment to the post on a regular basis in level - 7 (Rs. 44900-142400) in the pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and
(b) possessing the following educational qualification and experience:
(a) Essential:
(i) Educational Qualification : Master’s degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Pharmacology or Bacteriology or Medicine or Microbiology or Biotechnology of a recognised university or institute.
(ii) Experience : Four years’ experience in drugs testing and standardisation and research.
(iii) Desirable : Doctorate degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry or Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Pharmacology or Bacteriology or Medicine or Microbiology or Biotechnology of a recognised university or institute.
Note 1 : Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Note 2 : The qualifications regarding experience are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or the Scheduled Tribes, if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission, is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancies reserved for them.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO BE SENT ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION
1. Application in prescribed format - Annexure II duly filled in and signed by the candidate and countersigned with seal by the Cadre/Appointing authority.
2. Self-attested copies of Date of Birth and Masters Degree
3. Attested copies of APAR/ACRs for the last 5 (five) years duly attested on each page by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary to the Government of India.
4. Integrity Certificate
5. Vigilance Clearance Certificate
6. Statement of major or minor penalties, if any, imposed on the officer during the last 10 years of service.
7. A certificate to the effect that the particulars furnished by the candidate have been verified and found correct as per service records.
8. Cadre Clearance Certificate.
