Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council is a not-for-profit Section 8, Schedule B, Public Sector Enterprise, under Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs.

The PGIMER owes its inception to the vision of late Sardar Partap Singh Kairon, the then Chief Minister of Punjab and the distinguished medical educationists of the then combined state of Punjab, supported by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru who considered the institutions of scientific knowledge as temples of learning and the places of pilgrimage.

The ECHS Central Organisation is located at Delhi and functions under the Chief of Staff Committee (COSC) through AG and DGDC&W in Army HQ. The Central organisation is headed by Managing Director, ECHS, a serving Major General. There are 28 Regional Centres ECHS and 426 ECHS Polyclinics. ECHS is also an attached office of Dept of Ex-Servivemen Welfare (DoESW), Ministry of Defence (MoD) as are Directorate General Resettlement(DGR) and Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB).

CSIR - Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad is a Premier Research Laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research , which is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. CSIR-IICT is a multi-disciplinary Institute with proven strengths in Organic Chemistry (drugs, agro chemicals and industrial organics), Inorganic and Physical Chemistry including Catalysis, Lipid Science & Technology, Organic Coatings & Polymers, Chemical Biology, Chemical Engineering and Design Engineering.

Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, Indore was established in 1952. SGSITS is recognized as a leading institute in the state of Madhya Pradesh and the western region consistently during its glorious journey of seventy years. It has been ranked in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) on national level (including IITs and NITs) by MHRD. Further looking to its credentials, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi, has declared the institute as autonomous in 1989.

The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (www.instem.res.in), Bangalore is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. DBT-inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with translational emphasis.

The Tata Medical Center (TMC) is a multispecialty institution for tertiary cancer care. At TMC, clinical and research activities are integrated to provide state-of-the-art care for patients with cancer. This integration is enabled by the Tata Translational Cancer Research Centre (TTCRC), TMC’s research institution. At TTCRC, a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, scientists, academics and industry professionals collaborate to develop a systems medicine approach in cancer research.

The Central University of Punjab, has been established in 2009 along with other new Central Universities by an Act of Parliament (No 25, of 2009). Central University has completed a remarkable journey of 12 years. University is accredited ‘A’ grade in 2016 in first accreditation cycle by NAAC and has secured 95th, 87th and 84th rank in the year 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively in the University category of NIRF. It is credited with highest per capita research funding.

The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).
