Exciting opportunities for Microbiology, Biochemistry, Life Science Professionals at State Level VRDL

Applications are invited for filling up of following post under the State Level Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL), Department of Microbiology, AIIMS, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, for a period of one year purely on contractual basis as per below mentioned details.

Duration of Employment : One Year (12 Months) extendable, which will depend on the candidate’s performance and budget grant from the funding agency.

Essential Qualifications : 1st class Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry or life science from a recognized university with minimum five years research experience/training in the relevant subject. Or 2nd class M. Sc. + Ph.D degree in relevant subject from a recognized university. Or MBBS / BDS / B.V.Sc. & AH recognized by MCI / DCI / VCI respectively minimum five years research experience/training in the relevant subject.
NOTES : i. PhD degree in relevant subjects shall be treated equivalent to three-years of experience.
ii. Candidates with PhD or M. Tech degree will be preferred.
iii. MD in the related subject from a recognized university for candidates with first class relevant degree.

Desirable Qualifications : i. Minimum of one year research work on infectious diseases supported by at least two original research publication in PUBMED indexed journal will be given preference.
ii. Any Post -doctoral research / past experience in Viral infectious disease diagnosis, epidemiological studies will be given preference.
iii. Working experience of tissue culture / virus harvesting / cell line maintenance / viral gene expression study/ genetic basis of viral pathogenesis / viral diagnostic genetic marker. iv. Knowledge of Computer Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Sequence phylogenetic analysis software, Business Intelligence tools, Data Management. Working knowledge of molecular bioinformatic tools like Bio edit, BLAST, Primer and Probe designing, phylogenetic analysis and sequence will be preferred.

Job description
1. Real time assessment of any viral outbreak if occur in Chhattisgarh.
2. Coordination with state health personal in control measurement of any viral outbreak.
3. Ensuring the proper sample collection and its transportation by health workers in case of laboratory investigation of any viral outbreak in Chhattisgarh.
4. Routine diagnosis of all viral infections whose facilities are available in VRDL.
5. Conducting trainings and workshops for Medical colleges of Chhattisgarh.
6. Writing of any significant laboratory work for publication in reputed journals.
7. Participating in research projects sanctioned.
8. Writing new research projects and working on it.
9. Completion of any other work assigned by PI, Co-PI or Research Scientists C for smooth functioning of VRDL.
10. Supervision and management of other staff employed in VRDL.

Terms and Conditions
1. The above- mentioned vacancy is for a fixed tenure of one year (12 months).
2. The selection will not be an employment on AIIMS Raipur pay-roll. Employment will automatically terminate upon completion of the 1 year (12 months) from the day of joining of duties and there is no liability for permanent employment on AIIMS, Raipur or on Principal investigator. Also, the candidates have no right to claim permanent employment based on this job.
3. The contract can however be extended to a maximum of three years depending on the candidate’s performance and budget grant from the funding agency.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Interested candidates may appear for walk- in interview. Candidates should bring duly filled application form (As per the prescribed Performa) and all original certificates of educational qualifications, copies of research publications and experience certificate, identity proof, along with two photographs and a set of self-attested photocopies of all certificates and relevant documents at the time of interview.

The candidate needs to submit the application as per the format (google form). No change in serial no. order and the heading of column is to be made. The application in the said format is to be properly typed and signed. One recent self- signed passport sized color photographs is to be pasted on the assigned place on the first page of the application format. Applications that are not sent in the attached format will be rejected.

Selection procedure
The applications received will be scrutinized by the selection committee. Recruitments will be made through Interview and a written test will be conducted if the number of eligible candidates are more than 50 per post. Selection is based purely on merit basis. The list of candidates found eligible will be displayed on college website by Date : 05/03/2026. The candidates are advised to check the college website aiimsraipur.edu.in for the date, time and venue of interview/written test or for any other update or information.
