Roorkee

IIT Roorkee has its roots in the Roorkee College, which was set up in 1847. It was renamed as the Thomason College of Civil Engineering in 1854. The College laid the foundation of modern engineering education and the use of Civil Engineering practices in the infrastructure development of the country. The irrigation infrastructure in the form of dams and canals, roads and highways, railway, bridges, etc. in the country, all have been the outcome of the engineering education imparted in this, the only engineering institution in the country, at that point of time. It got elevated as the first technical University of the country in 1948 through the University of Roorkee Act, 1947 passed by the United Provinces Legislature.

CSIR will hold the Joint CSIR-UGC Test Tentatively on Sunday 18th June, 2017 for determining the eligibility of the Indian National candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (NET) in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science & Technology. The award of Junior Research Fellowship (NET) to the successful eligible candidates will depend on their finding admission/placement in a university/ national laboratory/ institution of higher learning and research, as applicable.

ABSTRACT
The objective of our investigation was to design a thermodynamically stable and dilutable nanoemulsion formulation of Ibuprofen, with minimum surfactant concentration that could improve its solubility, formulation were taken from thermodynamic stability and dispersibility test. The oil, surfactant, co-surfactant and aqueous phase, respectively, containing 100mg of ibuprofen showed a significant improvement in drug release. In vitro drug release of the nanoemulsion formulation was highly significant as compared to marketed tablet formulation. The present study revealed that tinidazole nanoemulsion could be used as a liquid formulation for increase bioavailability. The formulated system can also be treated as self nano emulsifying drug delivery system.
