Established in 1984, the Institute of Microbial Technology is one among the chain of 37 national laboratories, 6 units and 39 outreach centres of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Set-up to be a fore-runner in the niche domain of microbial biotechnology, the Institute in its initial years functioned from a start-up laboratory that provided a truly world-class R&D ambience in an area of over 10,000 sq. ft. to its researchers.

Project Title:- “Comprehensive analysis of niche-specific microbial dybiosis in human diseases(Microbiome mission): WP4 (Acne)”

Essential Qualification:- Masters / Integrated Masters in Natural or Agricultural or Pharmaceutical Sciences / MVSc / Animal Sciences or equivalent. OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable Qualification:- Experience in microbiology, mycology and bioinformatics, with expertise in handling microbes, isolation, purification, identification, characterization and preservation. Proficiency in microbiome analysis techniques such as culturomics and metagenomics, along with knowledge of bioinformatics tools for microbiome data and genome sequence analysis etc.

Upper Age limit:- 35 years
Relaxation in the age limit for the candidates belonging to the category of SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Women and the category of OBC shall be 05 years and 03 years respectively.

Monthly Emoluments:- Rs.31,000/- +HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET incl. lectureship/ assistant professorship or GATE OR those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and/or their Agencies/Institutions.
Rs.25,000/- +HRA for others who do not fall under (1) above.
