Established on October 1, 1933 as University Department of Chemical Technology (popularly called UDCT) of the University of Bombay (now Mumbai), with the noble intention of advancing India's knowledge reserves in chemical science and technology, the Institute has grown to become a premier (deemed) university devoted to education, training, research and industrial collaboration in chemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology and bio-processing. The then UDCT grew in stature over the years and was granted partial autonomy by the University of Mumbai in 1985, which was taken to the next echelon under the concept of autonomy propagated by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Title : Comparison between static and perfusion-based microfluidic devices for the development of spheroid-based model of breast cancer using primary cells.
Principle Investigator : Dr. Prajakta Dandekar Jain

Essential Qualifications : Masters in Biotechnology or equivalent qualification

Experience and Desirable : Candidate should have extensive cell culture experience.
Candidates having experience in organoid development using primary cells and/or microfluidic devices will be preferred.
Duration : Initial Appointment for 6 Months and can be extended based on performance and fund availability.

Remuneration / Salary : Rs. 53,000 per month (Consolidated)

Job Description : The candidate will work on development of patient derived organoids of breast cancer using static and microfluidic devices and compare their performance in assessing therapies against breast cancer

The selection of the candidate will be carried out through Online/Physical interview. If we receive a large number of applications, scrutiny for shortlisting of candidates for interview will be done. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview in online/offline mode. The candidate may be admitted for PhD program at ICT Mumbai subjected to the admission criteria of Institute. The recommendation of the committee will be final.
