ICMR

Department of Health Research has launched a scheme to provide advanced training to medical and health research personnel in India and abroad in cutting edge research areas concerning medicine and health to create trained human resource for carrying out research activities with main goal of improving patient management and public health in the country. This scheme has following components:
1. Short Term Fellowships for 1-3 months (In India and Abroad, Age: upto 55 years)

Eligible candidates are invited to attend WALK - IN - INTERVIEW on the following date at 9.30 a.m. sharp for the following positions on the ad hoc research project entitled “Vitamin A metabolic pathway on region – specific adipose tissue development and its relevance to insulin resistance: A proteomic approach to sexual dimorphism”. National AIDS Research Institute [NARI] was established in October 1992 in Bhosari, Pune on a seven acre plot. The Institute has progressively expanded its activities in various aspects of research on HIV and AIDS through infra-structural development, capacity building & research programmes. The present infrastructure includes the Institute housed in a 28024 sq. mtr space, residential accomadation for the staff, a power plant to ensure uninterrupted power supply and an incinerator for safe disposal of bio-waste.

Walk-in-Interview for the following post under ICMR sponsored project “Genetic Variants of Matrix Metalloproteinase Enzyme in HIVrelated Neurological disease” as detailed below. The post is purely temporary & for the period of project only.

Post: Junior Research Fellow- 1

This centre which was started by ICMR basically  to solve problems in blood banking, slowly branched out  successfully to initiate research in various other related areas of immunohaematology viz. biochemical genetics,  red cell enzymopathies and hemoglobinopathies,  population genetics, antenatal serology,  Immunology, HLA etc. In the first  twenty five  years,  using limited space, limited  resources  and budget,  talented and highly enthusiastic young  scientists from the  center under the guidance of  dynamic  stalwarts Dr.  H M Bhatia and  Dr. A J Baxi could produce as many as 271  publications  of which 71  were published in prestigious  international  journals.  The  centre had  many discoveries to it’s credit. Seeing this progress, ICMR decided to rechristen BGRC  as ‘Institute  of Immunohaematolgy’ at the time of  the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Institute in 1982 to accommodate all the departments of the centre under one roof.

Applications are invited up to 30^th June, 2014 for following the posts at this Institute on a consolidated salary for the period of Two years. Extendable up to 3 years. The appointment will be made on purely temporary basis.

Eligible candidates are invited to attend a WALK-IN-INTERVIEW on the following dates at 9.30 A.M. sharp for the following position on the ad hoc research project entitled “Impact of dietary fatty acids on the progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in fructose induced model of steatosis: Role of adipose tissue insulin sensitivity and secretary function”. Post: Senior Research Fellow- 01

Candidate having the below mentioned qualifications may appear for the Walk-in-Interview at ICPO on 10.06.2014 at 11.00 AM for the position of a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the time bound ICMR Project entitled “HIV & HPV co-infections among female sex workers” under Dr. Alok C. Bharti, Scientist ‘D’. The position is purely temporary and coterminus with the Project.
