Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an institution of education, training and research is established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India under the auspices of UNESCO. The Centre will focus on cooperatively working towards shared biotechnology growth in the Asia-Pacific Region. Regional interactions in biotechnology will promote co-operation amongst the countries to develop necessary infrastructure and capacity building for economic benefit of our societies. The Centre would be beneficial in developing knowledge rich, highly skilled human resource to all countries in the region. RCB will be part of the Biotech Science Cluster (BSC) and will operate in synergy with the other institutions in the Cluster.

The National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS) took birth as National Tissue Culture Facility in March 11, 1986 with a mandate of basic research, teaching & training, and as a national repository for cell lines/hybridomas etc. The centre is located in the midst of academically enriched environment of University of Pune campus, Pune.

The Molecular Biology and Biotechnology group of MBE Division of CSIR-CSMCRI, Bhavnagar, Gujarat is actively engaged in multidisciplinary research in frontier areas of modern biology and biotechnology such as stress genomics & proteomics, transgenics, plant-microbe interactions, skin microbiome, metagenomics, marine biotechnology, adaptation biology, gene mining and translational research. Tissue regeneration evolved from the field of biomaterials development and refers to the practice of combining biomaterials, cells, and biologically active molecules into functional tissues. The goal of tissue engineering is to assemble functional constructs that restore, maintain, or improve damaged tissues or whole organs. Our laboratory works at the interface of materials engineering (including polymeric Biomaterials) and biology to develop next-generation approaches in the generation of tissues such as bone, cartilage, and skin etc. We are seeking for talented, motivated and passionate individuals, eager to learn multidisciplinary skill set and ready to explore their talent/idea in the improvement of human health care, and to join our efforts in a leading-edge translation research on “Novel Polymeric Biomaterials for Tissue Regeneration ” .
