DIBT, Mysuru invites applications for the Paid Internship Scheme

Defence Institute of Biodefence Technologies (DIBT) is a specialized Research Centre under DRDO, Ministry of Defence. As a part of Internship Scheme introduced by Government of India, DIBT, Mysuru invites applications for its Paid Internship Scheme (06 Months) in the following disciplines from the students (Indian Citizens only) who are pursuing their final year M.Sc. from recognized Indian University/Institute in the academic year 2026-27.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :
The students who are pursuing their final year M.Sc. in the academic year 2026-2027 from a recognized Indian University / Institute are eligible.

NATURE OF INTERNSHIP
The duration of the internship/project work will be six months and will be conducted in offline mode at DIBT, Mysuru. A completion certificate will be issued to the students after the successful completion of six-months period from the date of joining.

NATIONALITY :
a. Only Indian Nationals can apply.
b. Students studied/studying in countries outside India are not eligible for applying.

SELECTION PROCEDURE :
a. The student should have good academic record with 85% & above marks or >8.5 CGPA on a scale of 10.
b. Only selected students will be notified about the joining procedure through mail.

APPLICATION :
a.The students must mail their duly filled application (enclosed as Annexure ‘A’) to the Centre Head, DIBT at centrehead.dibt@gov.in / head.hrd.dfrl@gov.in.
b. Candidates should clearly mention the subject line of the email as: ‘Application for Paid Internship - Post Code: ………. [Discipline Name]
c. The application must be accompanied with following documents combined in a single pdf in the order specified below.
1. Duly filled Application form as per format attached.
2. Copies of all previous semester marksheets.
3. Recommendation letter from the college/institute.
4. Brief biodata/resume less than 300 words highlighting your achievements.
5. Duly filled Undertaking form as per format attached.

BOARDING & LODGING : All expenses related to lodging, boarding, transportation, medical or any other personal expenditure during the internship shall be borne entirely by the individual. No such expenses will be reimbursed or provided by the organization.

PAYMENT OF STIPEND :
a. Stipend is Rs. 5000/- per month. A total of Rs. 30,000/- for 06 months will be paid in two installments. Each installment of Rs. 15,000/-.
b. First installment will be paid after completion of 03 months and second installment will be paid after completion 06 months of project work/internship.
c. Minimum of 15 working days per month of physical attendance at DIBT is mandatory.
d. Stipend will be paid directly in bank account of the student.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF JOINING
a. Referral/Permission letter from the college authorities (in original), issued on the college letterhead, clearly stating that the student is permitted to undergo internship training at DIBT in the format attached (Annexure ‘B’).
b. After selection for internship, police verification certificate is mandatory at the time of joining.
c. All selected interns are required to submit an undertaking form declaring their adherence to the Indian Official Secret Act 1923 and affirming that they will comply with all IT rules and regulations applicable to the Ministry of Defence, including any amendments thereof in the format attached (Annexure ‘C’ & ‘D’).
d. Selected students need to provide the bank details for transfer of internship stipend amount.
e. Physical fitness certificate from authorized medical practitioners holding at least an MBBS degree.
f. Students are required to bring Aadhar card, college ID card, previous semester marks sheets (in original) for verification and also submit 03 nos. passport size photographs.

IMPORTANT TERMS & CONDITIONS
a. Before applying, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in the advertisement as on closing date of advertisement.
b. Suppression of facts will lead to disqualification at any stage of the selection process.
c. Any form of canvassing or personal follow up made by or on behalf of any candidate, with the intention of influencing the selection process, shall lead to immediate disqualification of that candidate.
d. Selection will be based entirely on merit basis. No communication will be undertaken for rejected candidates.
e. No TA/DA will be paid for joining, if selected.
f. Incomplete/erroneous application or application received after the due date will be rejected. No further communication in this regard will be entertained.
g. Centre Head, DIBT reserves the right to change the vacancy positions or selection criteria at any point during selection process of the aforesaid internship scheme without assigning any reason whatsoever.
h. Upon successful completion of the Internship training which includes clearing of evaluation of project work and submission of project report, and completion of other formalities, Certificate of Completion will be awarded to the student. The student will require to submit progress report after 03 months and project report after 06 months / completion of the course
i. DIBT/DRDO shall have no obligation to offer employment to intern upon completion of the internship. Furthermore, successful completion of the internship shall not confer any right or claim for employment in DRDO or its affiliated organizations.
j. If the student is unable to complete the internship and leaves in between the program, then Certificate of Completion will not be issued to such students. No payment will be made if a student does not complete a tenure of 03 months. The student is eligible to receive the first installment upon successful completion of the first three months of the paid internship.
k. No leave will be permitted during the internship period, except for medical/sick leave, which must be supported by a valid doctor’s prescription from a registered medical practitioner.
