The CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur is one of the National Institutes under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research which is an autonomous body working under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. It is spread over 226.1 acres of land with the backdrop of snow-covered peaks of Dhauladhar Range in salubrious climate.

National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as Beri-Beri Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a Deficiency Disease Enquiry and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged Nutrition Research Laboratories (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.At the time of its golden jubilee in 1969, it was renamed as National Institute of Nutrition (NIN).

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Kolkata is an Institute of National Importance established by an Act of Parliament 2007 under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India.

Research at inStem addresses complex problems in areas of cell-differentiation and tissue regeneration using human pluripotent cells, examines clinical manifestations of diseases that can potentially be treated by stem cells, models human diseases using stem cells, uses model organisms to address fundamental questions in regenerative biology, develops platforms to interrogate signaling pathways with new chemical entities, and finally, develops tools that will help to better understand the biology driving stem cells and eventually treat disease states.

The National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, is a premier scientific institute and one of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)-Accredited Laboratories dedicated to human sports dope testing & allied research. This the only Laboratory of its kind in the country having state-of-the- art facilities. It is equipped with the latest and sophisticated analytical equipment including LC- Orbitrap-HRMS, GC/C/RMS, Sysmex XN 1000, Cobas e 411 etc.
