Biotechnology plays an important role to enhance quality of life and economy in the state. Globally, the science of Biotechnology is contributing in the fields of agriculture, healthcare, environment, industry and many other sectors. Gujarat is keen to walk with global developments and willing to increase prosperity of the state. Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani, Gujarat is establishing new marks in the overall development. Gujarat Government has recognized the importance of the science of biotechnology and its potentiality.

The Indian Registry of Pathology (IRP) was established in 1965 under the auspices of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in New Delhi, India as a Centre for collection and distribution of teaching material in pathology. The Registry was renamed in 1980 as the National Institute of Pathology (IOP) in view of its expanded scope and activities.

Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS) provides an excellent opportunity for young and motivated researchers to pursue a career in basic and applied Life Sciences research. DIPAS endeavors to optimize human performance under extreme operational environments using physiological, biochemical, nutritional and ergonomic approach.
