District Health and Family Welfare Officers Vijayapura are inviting applications for various posts for a period of one year for the following posts.  Applications are invited from eligible candidates for recruitment on contract basis, subject to the provisions of the recruitment-cum-merit.

Qualifications : DPharma qualification should be obtained only from schools recognized by the Government of Karnataka. And D Pharma candidates should be compulsorily registered with the Karnataka Pharmacy Counseling.

Terms and Conditions
1) The candidate should not be more than 45 years of age.
2) This contract appointment is for a period of one year only.
3) The staff selected on contract basis shall not be entitled to permanent appointment or retirement pay, retirement gratuity, pay scale or any other allowances. And shall not be eligible and shall not be challenged in court.
4) Since the selection is made for specific places, the candidate shall not be allowed to transfer/interchange or assignment to any other place on demand.
5) The candidate shall produce the original documents i.e. educational qualification mark sheet, date of birth certificate etc. before the District Health and Family Welfare Officer while reporting for duty.
6) The appointment of the candidates selected on contract basis is subject to the condition that they may be released from duty at any time without giving any reason by giving one month’s notice.
7) In case of complaint regarding performance, the candidate will be released from duty after giving one week's notice and giving an opportunity to explain.
8) They should be bound to compensate the government for any loss caused due to misconduct.
9) They should perform the duties and responsibilities assigned to them by the District Health and Family Welfare Officers and the District Health and Family Services Directorate from time to time without fail.

10) Leave facility for contract employees :  As mentioned in the National Health Mission circular dated 10.02.2023, the leave facility of the staff has been extended to the said contract basis recruitment. The selected staff are eligible to avail only the leaves available to temporary government employees. That is, one day of casual leave will be earned for every full month of service completed. Such leave can be availed separately or collectively as per the orders of the superiors. Leave cannot be claimed as their right.
• Staff appointed on contract basis are eligible to avail 10 days of leave on medical grounds in a year.
• Female staff are eligible to avail 180 days of maternity leave with pay. (Only for the first two live births)
• Male employees are eligible to avail 15 days of paternity leave from the date of delivery of their wife.
• Maternity leave shall not exceed 6 weeks in the event of termination of pregnancy by miscarriage or abortion. The application for such leave shall be supported by a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
• Employees going on maternity leave shall be entitled to receive during the leave period a salary equal to the salary they were drawing immediately before the leave.
• No maternity leave shall be granted to women employees having more than two living children.
• Along with the application for maternity leave, the women employees concerned shall submit a self-declaration to this effect to the officer granting maternity leave.
• Maternity leave for women employees employed on contract basis shall be regularised for a maximum period of 180 days as follows.
• The contract period of Mrs. X shall commence from 15.07.2021 and shall end on 14.07.2022. If she goes on maternity leave on 01.05.2022 and her contract period is not extended, her maternity leave period shall be limited to the maximum period of the contract i.e. up to 14.07.2022.
If her contract period is extended, then she shall be eligible for maternity leave of a maximum of 180 days.

11) If the permanent employees of the department come to the place where the selected contract employees are performing their duties, they shall not be able to dispute their release from duty and no case shall be filed in this regard in the Honorable Karnataka Administrative Tribunal or any other court.
12) The selected candidates shall, before reporting for duty, submit an undertaking of Rs. 100.00 (Rupees Hundred) on a stamped paper to the District Health and Family Welfare Officers in writing.
13) The selected contractual employees shall be required to reside at the central location.


Eligible candidates shall obtain the prescribed application forms free of cost from this office from 28-07-2026 and submit their applications along with their filled-in application along with all their original and photocopies of educational records, caste certificate, rural candidate certificate and other relevant documents in person for the live interview to be held at this office on 07-08-2026 from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Applications received after that time will not be accepted.
