    Applications are being invited for awarding scholarship for the year 2014 under “Swami Vivekananda West Bengal Government Merit-cum- Means Scholarship Scheme” for providing financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students of West Bengal pursuing higher studies.

    DTU Nanotech has a very strong profile in drug delivery and nanomedicine and is part of a range of national and European research programs. The department has unique infrastructure for conducing material research for life science applications and have in recent years build a strong profile within translational research. In the drug delivery area we aim to combine both basic and applied research and have a clear goal of developing new technology that provides solutions to society challenges in treatment of disease.

    Applications are invited from young scientists with outstanding track records, below the age of 35 years, for the NII-Young Investigator Award, to undertake cutting-edge research in fundamental or translational research in immunological and related sciences, under the mentorship of a faculty member.

  • Biodesign Innovation Fellowship at Stanford University

    Each year, the Biodesign Program has two U.S.-based fellowship teams of four fellows working within a specific clinical area. Focus areas in the past have included Cardiovascular Medicine, Neurosurgery/ Neurology, Electrophysiology, Musculoskeletal, Regenerative Medicine, Anesthesia/ Critical Care, Gastroenterology and General Surgery.

  • R.P. Goenka Scholarships for undergraduate studies covering Engineering, Medical & Other streams - 30 scholarships

    A number of meritorious students in West Bengal cannot pursue higher education to college level for want of funds. CESC proposes to introduce a scholarship programme to lend support to such students in the state, in line with the dream of Dr. R. P.Goenka, former Chairman of CESC.

  • Inviting application from Colleges/Universities willing to admit students under the Special Scholarship Scheme from AICTE

    Government of India under the Special Scholarship Scheme envisaged providing 5000 fresh scholarships every year to the students who are domiciled in Jammu and Kashmir and have passed class XII from schools located in the state and fulfilling all other eligibility criteria, for studying in duly approved Institutions located outside Jammu and Kashmir.

  • ICMR's Junior Research Fellowship - 120 fellowships for Life Sciences

    The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world. As early as in 1911, the Government of India set up the Indian Research Fund Association (IRFA) with the specific objective of sponsoring and coordinating medical research in the country. After independence, several important changes were made in the organisation and the activities of the IRFA. It was redesignated in 1949 as the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) with considerably expanded scope of functions.

    The setting up of a separate Department of Biotechnology (DBT), under the Ministry of Science and Technology in 1986 gave a new impetus to the development of the field of modern biology and biotechnology in India. In more than a decade of its existence, the department has promoted and accelerated the pace of development of biotechnology in the country. Through several R&D projects, demonstrations and creation of infrastructural facilities a clear visible impact of this field has been seen.
