The Pharmacy department of BITS Pilani is one of the few early schools of Pharmacy in India. Established in 1950, under the able leadership of (Late) Prof. M. L. Schroff, Father of Pharmacy Education in India, it blossomed into one of the most sought after Schools of Pharmacy in India due to its broad-based education system and university-industry linkages, which is the hallmark of BITS, Pilani.

National AIDS Research Institute [NARI] was established in October 1992 in Bhosari, Pune on a seven acre plot. The Institute has progressively expanded its activities in various aspects of research on HIV and AIDS through infra-structural development, capacity building & research programmes. The present infrastructure includes the Institute housed in a 28024 sq. mtr space, residential accomadation for the staff, a power plant to ensure uninterrupted power supply and an incinerator for safe disposal of bio-waste.

Assam University came into existence through Assam (Central) University Act, 1989(Established under an Act of Parliament) . It was  established in 1994,since then  the University is steadily becoming  an excellent centre of learning.  The campus, situated in Dargakona, about 20 kms from  Silchar, is set amid sprawling hillocks, a typical landscape in the  North East. It has a hospital for tertiary care of cardiovascular and neurological diseases, and research programmes in the areas of basic and applied medical sciences,  a Biomedical Technology Wing with facilities  and research programmes  for developing medical  devices from a conceptual stage to commercialization, and  The Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies for training and research in public health.

Indian Council of Medical Research, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The objective of establishing this centre is to carry out scientific evaluation of herbal medicines, both from codified and non-codified systems. The centre will also conduct studies on diseases of regional importance and the utility of traditional medicines in treatment of these diseases.
