The Grants Officer (Post-award & Development) will work within the Research Development Office (RDO) at NCBS to ensure smooth administration of extramural grants from various national and international funding sources as well as private/ philanthropic/CSR sources. The role ensures compliance, optimal fund utilization, timely reporting, and coordination across stakeholders to facilitate successful research outcomes.

Post : Grants Officer (Post-award & Development)

Number of vacancies : 1 position

Age limit : 40 years as of 01.07.2025 (subject to relaxation as per GoI norms)
The appointment will be a fixed-term position initially for one (1) year and renewable annually subject to the outcome of a performance assessment. The position comes with consolidated pay based on qualification and experience, subject to institutional guidelines.

Essential Qualification :
• Master’s Degree (preferably in any branch of Sciences/Management) 
• The applicant should be proficient in MS Office applications
• Proven communication skills
• Strong time-management and interpersonal skills
• The ability to analyze, summarize and communicate information
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Desirable Experience
• Prior experience in post-award grants management, or related research administration roles preferred.
• Knowledge of software tools and databases related to grant management, reporting, and data analysis.


Key duties of the Grants Officer (Post-award & Development) will include :
• Post-award management of grants: Facilitating grant activation, reporting, extensions, transfers and closures.
• Monitor the activities and expenditure on grants: Maintain a reporting calendar and reminder system using the Grant Management System to ensure timely submission of reports; track project timelines, deliverables, and expenditures; ensure optimal fund utilization in compliance with agency norms; and assist PIs with award compliance.
• Financial and Technical Reporting: Ensure timely preparation and submission of financial and technical reports to funding agencies; liaise with PIs and finance team to ensure data accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements; and prepare reports for select institutional grants.
• Information management and data analysis: Manage and analyze grant-related data to generate insights and reports for various stakeholders; identify emerging funding trends and patterns, and use these insights to guide institutional fundraising strategies and improve grant success.
• Outreach to funding agencies and donor engagement
• Contributing to resolution of queries and conflicts on administration of grants
• Assisting with additional fundraising and program renewals as appropriate
• Working across with colleagues at the RDO and other departments at NCBS as needed
• Undertaking any other duties that may be required from time to time

Consolidated Salary : Salary will commensurate with experience and qualification.
