The Food & Nutrition Board (FNB) is a technical support wing under Ministry of Women and Child Development. It has a countrywide set up comprising of Administrative and Technical Wings at Delhi, four Regional Offices and Quality Control Laboratories at Faridabad, Mumbai, Koikata and Chennai and 43 Community Food & Nutrition Extension Units (CFNEUs) under the Regional offices, located in 29 States/ UTs.

To meet the enhanced technical requirements consequent to expansion of the activities of the new FTLs, the Ministry seeks to appoint on contract basis the following staff with qualification and expertise in the specific technical areas to provide technical and management support. Details of the positions are as follows:

Quality Control Manager-Chemistry
No. of posts : Four (04)
Essential Qualification and experience:
Educational Qualifications:
(i) M.Sc. in Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ BioChemistry/ Food Technology/ Food Science/ Food Science and Technology from a recognized University or Institute.
Desirable:
a. Ph.D. in any of the above relevant fields.
b. Internal auditor course as per ISO/IEC 17025
Experience:
i. 5 to 7 years' experience in the role of quality assurance/quality control executive in NABL quality control laboratory; should have adequate knowledge of:
• Relevant national and international food standards.
• Requirements and conditions for accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025.
• Conducting quality audits.
Age: Not exceeding 45 years.
Location: One (01) each at Faridabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for maintaining quality system and handling of quality tools, calibration and validation of equipment; proficiency testing and quality control check and conduct audits in the laboratory. He/She will also attend to any other work that may be assigned by the senior officers.

Duration and type of Contract:
The position of Quality Control Manager - Chemistry will be filled up purely on contract basis for an initial period of one year with first six months as probation period. A performance appraisal at the end of six months will determine extension of the contract.
Reporting arrangement:
The incumbent will report to the concerned Deputy Technical Advisor (DTA) and higher authorities.
Remuneration and payment terms:
The consolidated remuneration will be Rs.65,000/- per month. Travel expenditure, per diem and other cost incidental to the travel undertaken by the incumbent in connection with performance of duty will be reimbursed as per the norms and TDS will be deducted as per the Income Tax law. No other allowance would be reimbursed. The incumbent is eligible for 12 paid leave in a calendar year, excluding National Holidays and Gazetted Holidays observed by Central Government Offices at respective locations.

Analyst- Chemistry
No. of Post : 05
Educational Qualifications
M.Sc. in Chemistry / Analytical Chemistry / Biotechnology / BioChemistry / Food Technology / Food Science / Food Science and Technology from a recognized University or Institute.
Desirable:
a. Ph.D. in any of the above relevant fields.
b. Internal auditor course as per ISO/IEC 17025
Experience: At least 2 years experience working in a NABL accredited food testing laboratory with areas of expertise in:
i. Proximate analysis of food products as per NABL accreditation, preparation of standard solution and its standardization, sample processing and safe storage of samples under custody, record maintenance.
ii. Operation of sophisticated analytical instruments; GC, HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, ICPMS, AAS etc. for their application for characterization of food components and safety and quality evaluation of food products, undertaking studies for shelf life and packaging studies. iii. Calibration, intermediate checking, method validation, quality assurance and analysis of pesticide residues, PAH, PCBs, mycotoxin, antibiotic residue in various food items and water as per NABL accreditation.
iv. Chemical analysis of food products.
Age: Not exceeding 35 years.
Location: Two (02) at Faridabad and one (01) each at Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai. Duties & Responsibilities: The Analyst will undertake routine analysis of food products using chemical and instrumental methods, preparation of SOPs and other quality documents for NABL Accreditations, Equipment calibration and maintenance, development and validation of methods. He/She will also attend to any other work that may be assigned by the senior officers.

Analyst - Analytical Chemistry

M.Sc. in Microbiology/ Chemistry/ Analytical Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bio-Chemistry/ Food Technology/ Food Science/ Food Science and Technology from a recognized University or Institute.
Desirable:
a. Ph.D. in any of the above relevant fields.
b. Internal auditor course as per ISO/IEC 17025 Experience: At least 2 years experience working in a NABL accredited food testing laboratory with areas of expertise in:
i. Operation of sophisticated analytical instruments; GC, HPLC, AAS, UV-VIS, FT-IR for their application for characterization of food components and safety and quality evaluation of food products.
ii. Microbiological analysis of various food products.
iii. Preparation of SOPs and other quality documents for NABL accreditations. iv.    New analytical method development and validation.
v. Sample preparation, media preparation, sterilization, culturing of reference material, sample inoculation and day to day microbiological analysis.
vi.    Disposal of media & culture, recording of all events in microbiology.
Age: Not exceeding 35 years.
Location: One (01) each at Faridabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai.
