Pharma, Chemistry, Life Sciences Fellowship Opportunity at Defence Research Laboratory

Defence Research Laboratory (DRL), a laboratory of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is focused on its research and development studies on vector-borne diseases, improving the quality of drinking water, waste biodegradation and management, high altitude horticulture and protective cultivation for hilly and border areas, and development of various products for use by defence forces.

Applications are invited from young and motivated candidates with desired qualification for the post of Junior Research Fellows and Research Associate to work in ongoing and future research projects at DRL, Tezpur (DRDO).

JRF Qualification Requirements
I. JRF : 05 post Qualification : M.Pharm/M.S(Pharm)/M. Tech(Pharm)/ M.Tech in Pharmaceutics/Pharmacology & Toxicology/Pharmacology/Pharmaceutical Chemistry with GATE/GPAT/NET.
II. JRF : 02 post Qualification : MSc. /M.Tech/ MVSc in Zoology/ Veterinary Parasitology / Microbiology / Biotechnology / Life Sciences with NET
III. JRF : 01 post Qualification : M. Sc. / M.Tech in Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry/ Chemical Sciences or related fields with NET/GATE
IV. JRF : 01 post Qualification : M Sc./M. Tech in Environmental Sciences/Soil Science/Chemistry , Life Sciences or related fields with NET

JRF Age limit : Age not exceeding 28 years for JRF as on the date of interview. Age relaxation is allowed up to 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC candidates.
Stipend : Rs. 37000/-per month with HRA as stipend.
Tenure/duration : The tenure of the fellowship will be initially for a period of two years and based on performance, it may be upgraded to SRF and extended for 3rd and 4th year if required.

RA Qualification Requirements
V. RA : 01 post Qualification : Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Sciences or related fields.
VI. RA : 02 post Qualification : Ph.D in Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry/ Chemical Sciences/ Textile Chemistry/Textile Engineering.
VII: RA : 01 post Qualification : Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Sciences or related fields. Desirable : Capillary/NGS Nucleic acid sequencing and data analysis
VIII. RA : 01 post Qualification : Ph.D in Polymer Sciences/ Chemistry/ Chemical Sciences Desirable: Experience in polymer analysis and instrumentation
IX. RA : 01 post Qualification : Ph.D in Horticulture, Desirable: Post harvest Technology

RA Age limit : Age not exceeding 35years for RA as on the date of interview. Age relaxation is allowed up to 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC candidates.
Stipend : Rs. 67000/-per month with HRA as stipend.
Tenure / duration : The tenure of the fellowship will be for a period of two years.

• "Mode of selection : Walk-in-interview at DRL, DRDO, Solmara Military Station, Dekargaon, Tezpur, Assam on 07/04/2026 (JRF) and 08/04/2026 (RA).
• Candidates should send their CV (Appendix ‘A’) to hrd.drl@gov.in on or before 31/03/2026.
• The offer of fellowship does not confer on fellows any right for absorption in DRDO. Admission shall not be claimed by any candidate as a matter of right. The admission shall be entirely at the discretion of the Selection Committee of the Institute which may refuse to admit any candidate without assigning any reason therefore.
• Candidates possessing degree/ provisional degree certificate are only eligible to apply.
• Candidates are to produce original certificatit is to inform thates/ testimonials and AADHAR card at the time of interview. Candidates are required to produce copy of published research papers & thesis also at time of interview. One photocopy set of all documents with application must be carried during the interview.
• Candidates presently employed in Government Department/ PSU's/ Autonomous Bodies should send their application through proper channel and are required to produce NOC from their employer at the time of interview.
• Decision of the Centre Head, DRL, (DRDO) Tezpur will be final in case of any discrepancy.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview or for joining.
• Number of fellowship as indicated above may vary depending upon laboratory requirement.
• Reporting Time is 1000 hrs on 07/04/2026 (JRF) and 08/04/2026 (RA) for interview at DRL, (DRDO), Solmara Military Station, Dekargaon, Tezpur-784 001, Assam.
