The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi, the apex body in India for the formulation, coordination and promotion of biomedical research, is one of the oldest medical research bodies in the world. The ICMR has always attempted to address itself to the growing demands of scientific advances in biomedical research on the one hand, and to the need of finding practical solutions to the health problems of the country, on the other. The ICMR has come a long way from the days when it was known as the IRFA, but the Council is conscious of the fact that it still has miles to go in pursuit of scientific achievements as well as health targets.
The walk-in-personal discussion/written test is proposed to be conducted to fill up the following posts on purely temporary basis in the various research projects entitled “National Registry of ART Clinics and Banks in India”, “Phase-I-II Clinical Trial on Safety, Immunogenicity and Probing Efficacy of the Revived Recombinant Vaccine against Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG)” and “Phase-III Clinical Trial with an Intravasal Injectable Male Contraceptive – RISUG” funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research under Division of Reproductive Biology, Maternal & Child Health, ICMR, New Delhi on 9th and 10th April, 2018 at ICMR Hqrs., New Delhi.
Scientist-II (Non-medical) – (One)
Age : up to 40 years
Salary : Rs. 51,000 + 30% HRA pm fixed
Essential Qualifications:
1. 1st class Master’s degree (Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Zoology, Biochemistry) from recognized University with 4 years experience in the relevant subject.
OR
2nd class M.Sc. + Ph.D degree in the relevant subject from a recognized University with 4 years experience.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Doctorate in related subject from a recognized university.
2. Additional post doctoral research/teaching experience in relevant subject in recognized institute(s).
3. Knowledge of computer applications or business intelligence tools/data management.
Nature of Duties : Assisting in Conducting, Monitoring and Co-ordinating all the activities of the project.
Scientist-I (Non-medical) – One
Age : up to 35 years
Salary : Rs. 48,000 + 30% HRA pm fixed
Essential Qualifications:
1st class Master’s degree (Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Zoology, Biochemistry) with 2 years experience in related field after Master Degree.
OR
2nd class Master’s Degree with Ph.D degree in relevant subject from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Doctorate in related subject from a recognized university.
2. Additional post doctoral research/teaching experience in relevant subject in recognized institute(s).
3. Knowledge of computer applications or business intelligence tools/data management.

Other Terms and Conditions
1. The posts are to be filled up on purely temporary basis.
2. Incomplete/late applications will be rejected.
3. Without signed applications will be rejected.
4. Application will only be accepted in the prescribed format.
5. After 10:00 AM no candidate will be entertained for walk-in-personal discussion/written test for all the above mentioned posts.
6. Any canvassing on behalf of the candidate or attempting to bring external influence with regard to selection/recruitment shall be considered as DISQUALIFICATION.
7. Age relaxation for reserved categories will be as per DOPT rules.
8. Selection shall be by competitive test and/or interview.
9. One time age relaxation for staff working in ICMR Projects at ICMR Institute/Centres will be allowed.
10. No benefit of Provident Fund, HRA, CCA, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim etc. will be considered, since the posts are on purely temporary/ad-hoc basis.
11. No TA/DA etc. will be given to attend the walk-in-personal discussion/written test.
12. The appointment is terminable with one month notice from either side without assigning any reason.
13. Since the project is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular appointments under ICMR or continuation of their services in any other project.
The verification for the scientific posts will be only on 09/04/2018 from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM and the walk-in-personal discussion/written test will follow at 11:00 AM at ICMR Hqrs., New Delhi.
Candidates who fulfill the requisite qualification and wish to appear for the walk-in-personal discussion/written test can download the format given on the website. Duly filled application along with the copies of certificates should be submitted at the time of walk-in-personal discussion/written test between 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM. After 10:00 AM no candidate will be entertained for walk-in-personal discussion/written test for all the above mentioned posts. The candidates are also required to bring their original certificates for verification.
