Banaras Hindu University is an internationally reputed temple of learning, situated in the holy city of Varanasi. This Creative and innovative university was founded by the great nationalist leader, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, in 1916 with cooperation of great personalities like Dr Annie Besant, who viewed it as the University of India. Banaras Hindu University was d under the Parliamentary legislation - B.H.U. Act 1915. It played a stellar role in the independence movement and has developed into the greatest center of learning in India. It has produced many great freedom fighters and builders of modern India and has immensely contributed to the progress of the nation through a large number of renowned scholars, artists, scientists and technologists who have graced its portals.

Advertisement for 01 post of Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellow

In reference to the Letter No. SRICC/RJP-PDF/BG-FM/2024-25/8987 dated 22-03-2025 from SRICC, BHU, applications are invited for one post of Raja Jwala Prasad Post-Doctoral Fellow with a consolidated fellowship of Rs. 60,000/- per month + HRA (Rs. 10,000/- per month) and a contingency of Rs. 50,000/- per year in an IoE BHU-sponsored fellowship sanctioned up to 12 months from the date of joining of the fellow. The Fellow will have access to comprehensive benefits, including health services, a library, and access to other university resources

Essential Qualifications : Only those research scholars who have done their Ph.D. in Zoology / Life Sciences from an Indian university / Institute with an NIRF ranking of up to 20 (overall or in the respective areas) and those who have done a Ph.D. abroad will be eligible. Research scholars who have done their research in Institutions of National Importance are also eligible. The candidates must have a proven track record with published work of at least two papers in Q1 or Q2 journals or SCOPUS / Web of Science-listed journals. 

Desirable Qualifications : The candidate should have research experience in Neuroscience with animal models of traumatic brain injury, proficiency in behavioral assessments relevant to brain injury outcomes, and expertise in molecular biology techniques such as western blotting and immunofluorescence. 


Upper age limit : The upper age limit is 45 (5 years relaxation for female/SC/ST/Physically Handicapped Candidate), and other selection criteria for this fellowship (RJP-PDF) are as per the rules of the Government of India and Banaras Hindu University. Age relaxation will be given for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates as per the GOI rules.
