The Institute of Advanced Virology (IAV), Regional Coordinator, National One Health Programme for Prevention and Control of Zoonoses (NOHPPCZ) under the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, invites applications for the following posts to be filled on contract basis.

Medical /Veterinary Degree Post Graduate Degree/ Diploma (in Epidemiology / Public Health/ Community Medicine/ Microbiology) OR Medical/Veterinary Degree. 2 years' experience in Epidemiology / Public Health / Community Medicine/ Microbiology
OR Master's degree in Bio-technology/Molecular biology / Microbial Genetics /Organic Chemistry / Microbiology /Public Health / Cell Biology
OR Zoology with cell biology or human genetics as a special subject 3 years’ experience in Epidemiology / Public Health/ Community Medicine / Microbiology
OR PhD in life sciences
Experience in Epidemiology/ Public Health/ Community Medicine/ Microbiology.
Emoluments : Rs. 75,000/- per month

Duties and Responsibilities
• Programme implementation
• Data collection, reporting, analysis and other local action pertaining to the programme.
• Co-ordination of various activities of the programme
• Assessing emerging training needs and arrange for programme related training
• Liaison with departments that have relevance to the programme
• Provide guidance for laboratory investigations of diseases of public health importance.

Assistant Research Officer
Age Limit : 40 Years
Educational & other essential qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Science with five years of experience in the areas of Epidemiology/Public Health /Community Medicine /Microbiology. OR Master's Degree in Science with 2 years of experience in Epidemiology/Public Health/Community Medicine /Microbiology.
Emoluments : Rs. 45,000/- per month

Duties and Responsibilities
• Undertaking controlled experiments, recording and analysing data.
• Collecting, preparing and testing of clinical samples, result generation and communication
• Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning and testing sterility of the equipment.
• Risk assessments
• Maintenance of laboratory stock and resources.

Notes
1. The age limit shall be counted as on the last date of submission of applications.

5. All educational qualification certificates shall be from a recognized Board/ University /Institution.
6. Experience gained shall be counted from the date of acquiring of prescribed minimum essential educational qualification.
7. Only those candidates fulfilling all the essential qualifications, and qualifying the screening by a duly constituted screening committee, will be short-listed for further selection process.
8. The short-listed candidates will be selected through a selection process comprising of a written test AND/OR interview. 9. The appointment will be coterminous with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year and subsequent extensions will be based on performance evaluation and project requirements.
10. The position is purely temporary, and selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any claim for future positions at IAV or NCDC (permanent or otherwise).
11. Canvassing in any form is not permitted, and any interim enquiry will not be entertained.
12. The Director, IAV reserves the right to decide on the number of positions to be filled; and on any matter related to the selection procedure, including cancellation of the selection process, if circumstances demand so.
13. The selected candidates will be required to work at/travel to the attached sentinel sites as per the directions of the project coordinator.
14. The selected candidates are required to join within one month from the date of issue of the appointment order.
