Guru Nanak Dev University was established at Amritsar on November 24, 1969 to mark the 500th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It is both a residential and an affiliating university. In conceiving the future course of the University, the objectives enshrined in the Guru Nanak Dev University Act 1969, emphasised that the new University would make provision for imparting education and promoting research in the humanities, learned professions, sciences, especially of applied nature and technology

Post: Associate Professor, Assistant Professors :Pharmaceutical Sciences - 2 posts

Applications are invited for the following posts on the prescribed application form so as to reach this office latest by 11.5.2016. Application form, Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) Proforma are available only at the University Website: gndu.ac.in. Candidates are required to submit the downloaded application form, duly filled-in all respects alongwith Rs. 1000/- (Rs. 500/- for SC and Handicapped Candidates) as cost of Application form either through Bank Draft in favour of the "REGISTRAR, GURU NANAK DEV UNIVERSITY, AMRITSAR " payable at Amritsar or can be deposited in cash with the University Cashier .

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
(i) Essential:
1. A basic degree in pharmacy (B. Pharm.) 2. Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments. 3. A Ph.D. Degree with First Class at Bachelor's or Master Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy, and experience of eight years in teaching, research, industry and / or profession at the level of Lecturer or equivalent grade; excluding period spent on obtaining the research degree. OR
(ii) In the event the candidate is from industry and the profession, the following shall constitute as essential; 1. First Class Master's Degree in the appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy; 2. Significant professional work which can be recognized as equivalent to a Ph.D. Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy and industrial/ professional experience of eight years in a position equivalent to the level of Lecturer. Provided that the recognition for significant professional shall be valid only if the same is recommended unanimously by a 3-Member Committee of Experts appointed by the ViceChancellor of the University
(iii) Desirable: 1. Teaching, research industrial and / or professional experience in a reputed organization; 2. Published work, such as research papers, patents filed / obtained, books and/ or technical reports; and 3. Experience of guiding the project work, dissertation of post graduate or research students or supervising R&D projects in industry. (iv) A minimum score of 300 points in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), as set out in UGC Regulations (2nd Amendment) 2013 vide UGC letter No.F.1- 2/2009(ECPS)Pt.V(I) Vol.II dated 14 June,2013..

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
i. Essential: 1. A basic degree in pharmacy (B.Pharm.). 2. Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time to time, including any succeeding enactments. 3. First Class Master’s Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy
ii. Desirable: 1. Teaching, research industrial and/or professional experience in a reputed organization; and 2. Papers presented at Conferences and / or in refereed journals. iii. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

Note: -
1. The qualifications for all the teaching posts are as per UGC norms except teaching posts at Amardeep Secondary School Mukandpur.
2. Copy of Circular, containing detailed instructions, qualifications, etc. for the posts are available only at the University Website: gndu.ac.in.
3. Persons already in service must send their applications through their employer. All those candidates working in organizations/institutions including affiliated colleges of the university may be allowed to appear in interview without No Objection Certificate with the condition that in case the candidate is selected, no extension in joining time will be allowed. Such candidates are required to give an undertaking on the format available on university website: www.gndu.ac.in. All such candidates will be given standard joining time i.e. one month from the issuance of appointment letter.
4. The candidates are required to apply separately for each post earmarked for each Deptt. / Station.
5. Incomplete applications in any respect or without the prescribed fee or received after the due date will not be entertained. 6. University reserves the right to fill or not to fill up the posts and to call only suitable candidates for interview.
7. The number of posts can be increased or decreased before the interview.
8. Candidates within India may not be considered in absentia. Higher start in the grade may be given depending upon qualifications and experience of the candidates.
9. C.V. of any candidate can be placed before the Selection Committee at the time of Interview.
10. IMPORTANT: Applicants for the posts of Professors/Associate Professors/ Principals/ Director Physical Education & Sports or Equivalent Cadres must attach the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) Proforma as indicative Appendix III Table II(C)/V(c) (duly filled-in all respects by them) and attested copies of supporting documents, with their applications.
11. A minimum score of 300 points for the post of Associate Professor/equivalent cadres and 400 points for Professors/equivalent cadres from category III of APIs are required.
12. 3% of the Total Teaching posts (category wise) are reserved for Handicapped Category
13. If Number of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor are large, then a screening test will be held for short-listing.
14. The Screening Criteria and template to be used by the selection Committee for Academic record and Research Performance etc. are also available on University Website.
