NER-BPMC has been set up by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, through Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) for development, coordination and monitoring of biotechnology programmes in the North Eastern States of India.

Applications under NER-BPMC are invited for the post of Senior Consultant under Agricultural Biotechnology.

Essential Qualifications: Candidates having master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Agriculture, from a recognized University with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the respective areas preferably in implementing major research programmes.

Desirable: Candidate having Ph.D. in their respective areas with experience in handling projects in North Eastern Region of India and recently superannuated would be preferred.

AGE LIMIT: The maximum age limit for applying for the above posts is 66 years as on May 31, 2017.

 

EMOLUMENTS: In consideration of the services performed by the Consultants, a consolidated monthly fee of Rs. 80,000/- (Rupees Eighty Thousand Only) will be paid at the close of the every month after tax deduction at source as applicable.

PLACE OF POSTING The selected Consultants would serve NER-BPMC on full time basis (9.00AM to 5.30PM) at NER-BPMC Office, A-258, Defence Colony, New Delhi.

SCOPE OF DUTIES OF CONSULTANTS
• To undertake analytical work to formulate programmes/proposals for accelerating development of North Eastern State of India.
• To study the national and international programs which will have implications on fostering development of the North East Region and develop synergistic programs for the holistic development of the region.
• To coordinate planning, management and timely implementation of programs.
• Suggest Public-Private-Partnership in biotechnology research and relevant medical enterprises development.
• To travel frequently to the North East Region to formulate the need based programs and to oversee implementation of the ongoing programs.
• Any other related task assigned by DBT/BCIL.

The above consultancy assignments are contractual, initially for a period of one year with a scope of further extension upto 3 years, depending on the performance review.
