The Department of Pharmaceuticals was created on the 1st of July in the year 2008 in the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers so as to provide greater focus for the growth of the high potential Pharmaceuticals industry.  Shri Ananth Kumar is the Minister of Chemical and Fertilizers and Shri Mansukh L. Mandaviya is the Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers.

In supersession of this Department's O.M. of even no. dated 19.04.2017, the undersigned is directed to convey approval of the competent authority to the amended qualifications and other conditions for engagement of Technical & Legal Consultants in the Department of Pharmaceuticals.

Technical Consultant
Qualifications:-
Essential:- Master's Degree in Science with specialization in Organic Chemistry/ Bio-chemistry/Biotechnology or Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering/ Chemical Technology or Master's Degree in Pharma from a recognized University/ Institution.

 

Desirable:-
i) Exposure to computing systems to examine and analyse input- output norms for bulk drugs, drugs intermediates, formulations and medical devices.
ii) Exposure to process Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) proposals, matters related to bilateral & multilateral Trade Agreements, Drugs and Cosmetics Act, Drug (Price Control) Order etc and other related issues.

Other conditions
i) Conditions stipulated in the guidelines for hiring of consultants issued by the Department of Pharmaceuticals vide O.M. No.41011/3/2016-Estt. dated 03.04.2017 are applicable, details of which are available at pharmaceuticals.qov.in.
ii) Department of Pharmaceuticals reserves the right to assign any additional work upon the consultant as per its requirement.
iii) The person engaged shall not accept any other part time job/profession during the contract period.
