Mansa district was formed on 13th April 1992 from the erst while district of Bathinda. Mansa is a small district both in terms of population and area. It is situated on the rail line between Bathinda-Jind-Delhi section and also situated on Barnala-Sardulgarh-Sirsa Road. The town is said to have been founded by Bhai Gurdas who hailed from Dhingar, Distt. Mansa. He is said to have been married at this place among the Dhaliwal Jat Sikh. Once he came to his in-laws to take his wife alongwith him but they refused to send her. At this, Bhai Gurdas sat in meditation before the house of his in-laws. After some time, the parents of the girl agreed to send their daughter with Bhai Gurdas. But he refused to take her alongwith him, stating that he had now renounced the worldly way of life. In his memory, his Smadh was constructed where a fair is held every year in March-April. People in large numbers attend the fair and offer Laddus and Gur at Smadh. Class ‘A’municipality has been functioning in the town since 1952.

District Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Society, Mansa invites applications from 22.07.2014 to 02.08.2014 on the prescribed Performa for filling up following posts on purely contractual basis:

Post: Pharmacists

No.of posts: 03 (General- 02, SC - 01)

Qualification: 1. B.Pharmacy/ Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized Institute. 2. The applicant must be registered with the Punjab State Pharmacy Council.

Consolidated Salary: Rs 35,000/- per month

Terms and Conditions:
1. The number of Posts can anytime be increased or decreased as per the policy guidelines by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Punjab.
2. The recruited persons will purely work under the aegis of the District Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Society which will run the proposed Rehabilitation Centre.
3. As regards posts at point number 1 and 2, preference will be given to Male candidates.
4. All posts will be on contractual basis initially for one year and subsequent extension/renewal will be given depending upon the functioning/ performance/work and conduct of the staff and the Policy Guidelines/ Instructions as and when issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Punjab.
5. Age Limit: 18-38 years, as on January 1, 2014. Age relaxation for Scheduled Caste candidates shall be as per rules of Govt of Punjab.
6. The candidates applying for more than one post shall have to apply separately.
7. Only candidates having a minimum of one year relevant experience in the said field or branch should apply.
8. A written test will be conducted on August 9, 2014 at 11.00 A.M.
9. The syllabus of written test for the above mentioned posts shall be as per the eligibility qualification. Candidates clearing the written exam will be called for the interview.
10. Only those candidates who have passed Punjabi subject in Matriculation standard are eligible to apply.
11. The SC Category certificate should be in accordance with the instructions of the Department of Welfare, Punjab.
12. The last date of applying for the above mentioned posts is August 2, 2014 (Till 5 PM). Completely filled in application forms must reach the Office of Assistant Commissioner (General Administration), Room number-24, First Floor, Deputy Commissioner Office, District Administrative Complex, Mansa.
13. The applications can be sent through registered post or submitted personally in the above mentioned office. No applications will be entertained after August 2nd, 2014.
14. Administration will not be responsible for any postal delays.
15. All the duly filled application forms will be scrutinized by the office and names of candidates will be displayed on the District's Website by August 4, 2014. Eligible candidates will be called in to appear for the exam on August 9th, 2014.
16. The date, time and venue of the written test shall be communicated to all candidates through the district website mansa.nic.in and through a press note in the leading newspapers.
17. Eligible candidates qualifying the exam will be called for an interview on August 20, 2014 at 10.00 AM at the Office of Deputy Commissioner, Mansa.
18. No TA, DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing for the written test and interview.
