Career for M.Pharm, M.Sc at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology
Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) invites applications for the following positions in its Joint Research Program with Srinivasa Ramanujan Institute for Basic Sciences (SRIBS), a new constituent institute of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), in Chemical Biology laboratory incubated at the RGCB-Bio Innovation Center at Kazhakuttom, Thiruvananthapuram until SRIBS permanent infrastructure gets ready at Pampady in Kottayam District of Kerala, under an agreement with RGCB. These positions are for Srinivasa Ramanujan Institute for Basic Sciences (SRIBS). At the end of the planned five year period, when the SRIBS buildings and laboratories is fully established, SRIBS will notify and transfer the research program and the personnel to its campus at Kottayam. This appointment to the joint research program being hosted at RGCB will be governed by SRIBS, KSCSTE Rules.
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Junior Research Fellow in a DBT funded research project entitled "Characterization of the role of Nucleophosmin and other selected host proteins identified from differential proteomics in Chikungunya virus infection" in the laboratory of Dr. E Sreekumar
Post: Junior Research Fellow
Master's Degree in any branch of Life Sciences with First class; willingness to work with human pathogens in a Bio-safety containment laboratory and with experimental animals.
ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
A genuine interest in virology research and a committed intention to pursue doctoral study in the field.
AGE: Below 28 years as on 3rd March, 2017.
EMOLUMENTS: 25,000 + 20% HRA per month for M.Sc. Degree holders who have qualified at NET/GATE (with valid certificate) or Post Graduates in Professional Degree course qualified candidates. M.Sc. degree holders who do not have NET/GATE certification will be eligible for 12,000/- + 20% HRA per month
Duration: Two Years and five months or till termination of the project whichever is earlier.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT :
Candidates should include a signed statement in their own handwriting in the declaration section of the application to the effect that they are willing to work with potentially infectious pathogens following the bio- safety guidelines of the institute and are willing to work with experimental animals.
