Jadavpur University is to trace a part of India’s freedom movement, at least from the Swadeshi Movement onwards. It was 1905 -1906. Bengal stood divided. The times were feverish.The hegemony of the British establishment had to be challenged. Education had to play a new role in this changed scenario. It had to become a new form of resistance through which the emergent nationalist spirit could be propagated.
The University invites applications from Indian Nationals in the prescribed form for Guest Faculties to teach the subjects mentioned for each department in the Second Semester of the (2016-2017) academic session in various Departments of Faculty of Engineering & Technology.

Essential qualification:
1. Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
a) Masters' degree with first class or equivalent at B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm./ B.Arch. or M.E./M.Tech./M.Pharm./M.Arch. in relevant branch of Engineering (Engg.) and Technology (Tech.) / Pharmacy / Architecture
Note: The Minimum Eligibility Criteria for guest faculties for non-Engineering Subjects:
a) Masters' degree with first class or equivalent at bachelors or masters level in relevant branch of study.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Printing Engineering
Basic Bachelor degree in Printing Engineering and Masters degree in the relevant field of specialization, Teaching and/or Research Experience in the subjects mentioned will be preferred.
2. Electronics and Tele-Communications Engineering
(a) For Digital Control System Lab: Knowledge of Digital Control using Microprocessor/PC and Matlab Program will be preferred.
(b) For Industrial Electronics Lab: Knowledge of 8051 Microcontroller Programming, Siemens - Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Texas Instruments -TI MSP430G2559 Microcontroller Programming will be preferred.
3. Metallurgical and Material Engineering:
Bachelors' and Masters' Degree in Medical Science & Surgery with specialization in relevant branch of study will be preferred

General Information Applicable for all candidates:
1.The appointment will be for the Second (2nd) Semester of the (2016-2017) academic session ONLY. The responsibility will include taking the classes, the examinations and the evaluation of the answer scripts.
2. Guest faculties will be paid remuneration at the rate of Rs. 500/- per class period.
3. Candidates who are eligible for Assistant Professor post as per UGC guidelines may apply in the prescribed format as given in the University website.
4.Complete applications forms (one original and one photocopy of the duly filled-in application form along with all enclosures including self-attested copies of the testimonials to be submitted in single copy each) have to be submitted to the FET Office on all working days within 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. The last date of receiving application is 16th December, 2016.
5. Each application must be accompanied by a signed declaration of the subjects the candidate is interested in teaching.
6. No application fee need to be submitted.
7. Upper age limit of applying candidates is 70 years as on 30.06.2017.
8.The guest faculty appointment will not create any claim or preference in any subsequent recruitment process.
9. He/She will have to work under the concerned Head of the Department.
