Senior Research Fellowship under ICAR NASF funded project at NIAB

NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, is aimed to harness novel and emerging biotechnologies and create knowledge in the cutting edge areas for improving animal health and productivity. The Institute’s research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenesis, stem cell & its applications, reproductive biotechnology, infectious diseases, nanotechnology, bioinformatics and Nutrigenomics. The Institute aims at translational research leading to genetic enhancement of Indian Livestock species and basic research towards development of novel vaccines, diagnostics and improved therapeutic molecules for farm animals.

ONE position of Senior Research Fellowship under ICAR NASF funded project titled “Molecular biological studies on porcine reproductive & respiratory syndrome (PRRS) virus in pig population of North East Region of India for development of sustainable diagnostics and vaccine” Dr. Madhuri Subbiah (CCPI), Scientist-E.

Fellowship amount : Rs. 31,000/-+ HRA (if applicable) as per ICAR guidelines.

Eligibility : Master degree in relevant subject with 4 years / 5 years of Bachelor’s degree. Candidates having post-graduate degree in basic sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have ICAR/UGC/CSIR NET qualifications and 2 years of research experience as mentioned in OM No. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dates 13th July, 2015, OM No. Agril. Edn. 6/27/2014-HRD 9th October, 2015 of the council, OM SR/S9/Z-09/2018 of DST dated 30th January 2019 and OM F.No. Ag.Edn.6/27/2014-HRD dated 30th July 2019.

Desired Experience : Candidate having previous work experience in the areas of molecular cloning, Lateral Flow Assay development, cell and virus culture and basic molecular biology techniques will be preferred.


Age : 35 years (Relaxation is admissible in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government instructions)

Interested eligible candidates can attend the walk-in interview scheduled on 20-09-2023 between 9:00 am and noon at the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology. Candidates must carry original copies of documents in support of their date of birth, educational qualifications, resume and experience certificates. TA/DA will not be paid for attending the interview.
