The Nagpur University was established on 4th August, 1923 with six affiliated colleges and 927 students. During 1947, the number of students increased to about 9000 accompanied by the improvement and diversification of curricula and expansion in the range of subjects. The expansion of library and sports facilities occurred during these years for the intellectual and physical well being of the students.

Govt. of Himachal Pradesh took up initiative in early seventies to set up a CSIR lab to make prudential use of the natural resources of the region. After several levels of discussions a formal request was made by then Chief Minister of HP to Vice President, CSIR in 1982 for initiating the matter, and giving final shape to the proposal.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals today announced the settlement of litigation with Daiichi Sankyo and Genzyme Corporation regarding Glenmark's Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) tiled with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Colesevelam Hydrochloride, a drug used in treatment of type-2 diabetes.
