National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an ‘Institute of National Importance’. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. The Institute is conceived to provide leadership in pharmaceutical sciences and related areas not only within the country, but also to the countries in South East Asia, South Asia and Africa. NIPER is a member of Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities.

Applications are invited for two JRF (technical) positions in a DST project (no. GP-341) at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry (NIPER) in the area of oxidation reactions using cytochromes. The above position is purely temporary upto the end of the project (July 2012). Interested candidates with consistently good academic record may appear for WALK IN INTERVIEW on 14th Sept. 2011 (Wednesday) at 3.00 pm with CV and attested copies of certificates along with Demand Draft of Rs.50/- (Rs 25/- for SC/ST/PH) favoring The Director, NIPER payable at Mohali/ Chandigarh. Reservation for SC/ST/PH is as per GOI Rules. Canvassing in any form will be treated as disqualification for the post. TA/DA will not be paid for attending the interview.

Qualifications
Should have completed M.S. Pharm. degree in Medicinal Chemistry / Pharmacoinformatics or equivalent. M.Sc. in Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology or equivalent.

Should have been qualified in the DBT fellowship examination or CSIR / UGC NET fellowship examination.

Consolidated pay per month
Rs. 18,000/- plus HRA (as per the DBT fellowship or CSIR /UGC fellowship rules)

Period
10 months ( or upto the end of the DST project)
