CSIR - Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad is a Premier Research Laboratory under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research , which is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. CSIR-IICT is a multi-disciplinary Institute with proven strengths in Organic Chemistry (drugs, agro chemicals and industrial organics), Inorganic and Physical Chemistry including Catalysis, Lipid Science & Technology, Organic Coatings & Polymers, Chemical Biology, Chemical Engineering and Design Engineering.

Established on October 1, 1933 as University Department of Chemical Technology (popularly called UDCT) of the University of Bombay (now Mumbai), with the noble intention of advancing India’s knowledge reserves in chemical science and technology, the Institute has grown to become a premier (deemed) university devoted to education, training, research and industrial collaboration in chemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology and bio-processing.

The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM).

Shri Indra Ganesan College of Pharmacy,  has emerged as one of the premier Institute in the field of Pharmacy. The institute is running Diploma in Pharmacy, Bachelor in Pharmacy in five branches, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology Shri Indra Ganesan College of Pharmacy located near the Central Bus stand, Railway Station and Airport.

Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Pharmacy, established in 2004, has emerged as one of the premier Institute in the field of Pharmacy. The institute is running Diploma in Pharmacy, Bachelor in Pharmacy and Masters program in five branches, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Quality Assurance. The institute has well stocked library, modern laboratories, offering latest technology equipment and classrooms for materializing the dream of SRIP to contribute more to the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research.

The CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) is amongst one of the constituent research institutes of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. Originally set up as the National Botanic Gardens (NBG) by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh (U.P.), it was taken over by the CSIR in 1953.

BITS Pilani is a Deemed to be University, offering on-campus programs to more than 17,500 students across its campuses in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad and Dubai. It has been recognized as an Institute of Eminence by the Ministry of Education, Government of India in 2020. In the NIRF 2022 rankings, BITS Pilani has been ranked 5th in Pharmacy, 18th in the University category and 29th in Engineering. In QS Asia University Rankings 2023, BITS has been ranked 188th, the only private institute from India in Asia Top 200, and at 18 in India.
