CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow is a constituent laboratory under Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi.  It is a unique R&D Institution in the country with state-of-the-art infrastructure for fundamental chemical and biomedical research driven new drug discovery and development. Institute is richly contributing to the advancement of understanding of disease biology in the areas of national priorities, and set-off revolution of Indian pharma sector over the past 70 years.

The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology is an autonomous national institute of the Government of India, Ministry for Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology. The Laboratory was established in 1941 as a research and production centre, known as Drug Research Laboratory of J&K State and was later taken over by Council of Scientific and Industrial Research of Govt. of India in December 1957 as Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu. In view of its core strength in natural products based drug discovery, the mandate of Institute was redefined in 2005 and its name changed to Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine.
