The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is an autonomous Grant-in-aid Institution of the Department of Atomic Energy. The TMC is comprised of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) and the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH). The TMC conducts Ph.D. program in Life Sciences and Health Sciences and is affiliated to the Homi Bhabha National Institute (Deemed University). On-going research at TMC includes basic, Epidemiological  and translational work in Cancer.

The Public Petition dated 11-11-1839 initiated the establishment of Madras University. It was in January 1840 with Mr.George Norton as its President, that the University Board was constituted. Palamuru University, Mahabubnagar, came into existence, fulfilling the long cherished dream of people of Mahabubnagar dstrict in the 'year 2008, toy Act No 29 of 2008 enacted toy the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh and published In the Andhra Pradesh Gazette on 24th September, 2008.
