Piramal Life Sciences Limited (PLSL) is an independent research-driven drug company that was recently demerged from Piramal Healthcare Limited (Formerly known as Nicholas Piramal India Limited). PLSL was formerly the NCE R&D division of NPIL. CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow is a premier R&D Institute under the aegis of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi which is an autonomous body under Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India.

The Centre of Biomedical Research (CBMR) at Lucknow established with aims to promote and strengthen multidisciplinary areas of research and to create opportunity for extraordinary talented scientists to research at the interface between Chemical, Biological, Medical Sciences and NMR Spectroscopy. The centre focuses research in interfacing small molecule synthesis with Biology for developing future medicines and therapies.

Shivaji University, established in 1962, is named after the Great Maratha Warrior and founder of the Maratha empire Chhatrapati Shivaji. It was inaugurated on 18th November, 1962 by Dr. Radhakrishnan, the then President of India. Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (Jammu, India), Medanta-Duke Research Institute (Gurgaon, India) and National Centre for Natural Product Research (University of Mississippi, USA) are planning to jointly organize a two day symposium on botanical drug development during 13-14 December, 2013, at MDRI, Gurgaon, India.

CSIR- Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR-CDRI), a premier drug research institute of India was inaugurated on 17th Feb 1951 by the then Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru with a vision to strengthen and advance the field of drug research and development in the country. The Institute has made significant accomplishments in the pursuit of its mission to New Drugs & Technologies for affordable healthcare for all, generation of knowledge base and nurturing future leaders for healthcare sector. Today, it has become a unique model for modernized drug research in India – having everything under one roof, from synthesis, screening, development studies, process up-scaling to clinical studies. Unique achievements of the Institute includes discovery and development of 12 new drugs, of which, Arteether (Brand Name: E-mal), BESEB (Brand Name: Memory Sure), Centchroman (Brand Name: Saheli) are currently in market; transferred more than 130 indigenous technologies to the pharmaceutical companies, a significant contribution in the metamorphosis of the Indian Pharma Industry. So far, more than 10,000 research articles have been published by the Institute in peer reviewed journals. Obtained more than 350 Indian patents and 90 international patents; and produced more than 1000 Ph.D's. Several of its Alumni have occupied highest positions in national and international academic institutions, biotech and pharma industries.

The newly born Chemical Biology Society (CBS) of India cordially invites scientists, doctoral and post-doctoral researchers working in the interface of chemistry and biology to actively participate in its first formal international meeting “International Conference on Chemical Biology: Disease Mechanisms and Therapeutics (ICCB-2014)” to be organized by CBS jointly with CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad during February 6-8, 2014.

The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is designed to be an international institution of excellence in biotechnology, with intimate contributions from regional countries as well as from academic institutions worldwide. RCB will provide a globally competitive platform for interdisciplinary research & education at biotech interface of engineering & medicine, chemistry & physics, agriculture & climate science to empower human resources to drive biotech innovations.
