The flagship company of the Piramal Group, Piramal Enterprises Ltd. (PEL), has business interests in Pharma, Information Management, and Financial Services verticals of the group.  Towards the late 80s, we shifted our focus from textile to pharmaceuticals. We chose to invest significantly in the domestic formulation development business, while other companies in the industry concentrated on international generics. Our efforts proved successful with a track record of approximately 23% revenue CAGR. In 2010, our strategy accomplished a sale of its domestic formulations business at an unprecedented value of ~9x sales and ~30x EBITDA.

Guru Nanak Dev University was established at Amritsar on November 24, 1969 to mark the 500th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. It is both a residential and an affiliating university. In conceiving the future course of the University, the objectives enshrined in the Guru Nanak Dev University Act 1969, emphasised that the new University would make provision for imparting education and promoting research in the humanities, learned professions, sciences, especially of applied nature and technology.

CSIR - National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, a constituent laboratory of Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), is a premier plant science research institute, involved in multidisciplinary R&D programmes of both basic and applied nature across scientific disciplines for economic, environmental and societal benefits for the people of India. CSIR-NBRI undertakes basic and applied research in strategically important areas of plant sciences.

The Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB) is a growing phenomenon.
Located in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala, RGCB began in 1990 amongst humble surroundings as a small charitable society called the Centre for Development of Education, Science and Technology (C-DEST). In 1991, recognizing its potential, the C-DEST was made a “Grant-in-Aid” institute of the Government of Kerala and renamed as Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Development of Education, Science and Technology (RGC-DEST), becoming the first institute in the country to be named after Sri Rajiv Gandhi, the young illustrious and visionary former Prime Minster of India.
