The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is an autonomous Grant-in-aid Institution of the Department of Atomic Energy. The TMC is comprised of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) and the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH). The TMC conducts Ph.D. program in Life Sciences and is affiliated to the Homi Bhabha National Institute (Deemed University). On-going research at TMC includes basic and translational research in Cancer Biology. Specific research topics include study of cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, metastasis, tumor immunology, molecular imaging, carcinogenesis, stem cell biology, biophysics, structural biology, bioinformatics, proteomics, genomics, genetics, epigenetics and Pharmacology.

would like to take this wonderful privilege to invite you all to the 9thNational Symposium cum Workshop” going to be held during February 14th – 17th 2017, on the theme of “Recent Trends in Structural Bioinformatics and Computer Aided Drug Design” seeks to continue the good synergy obtained in the previous edition, providing a discussion forum from scientists, researchers, students and industrials about the latest ideas and realizations in the foundations, theory, models and applications for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research encompassing disciplines of Structural Biology, Molecular Biology, Structural Bioinformatics, Computer Aided Drug Design and Pharmacogenomics. In recent years, Computational Biology and Medical Informatics have seen significant advances driven by computational techniques making Bioinformatics and Computational Biology among the most vibrant research areas that could accelerate translational research comprising of the development and discovery of drugs against combating diseases that could enhance the livelihood and life expectancy of the individuals.
