The history of Jamia Hamdard begins with the establishment of a small Unani clinic in the year 1906 by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed, one of the well-known practitioners of Unani System of Medicine of his time. Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed had a vision of making the practice of Unani Medicine into a scientific discipline so that Unani medicines could be dispensed in a more efficacious manner to patients.

Applications are invited for the positions of a Studentship and a Traineeship in Bioinformatics at DBT, MST supported bioinformatics facility at Jamia Hamdard for a period of 5 months each at a remuneration of Rs. 8,000/- per month (fixed).
Studentship
Students perusing a Postgraduate Degree in Life Science or Pharmacy or Computer Science or an allied discipline with interest in bioinformatics, supported by an evidence/write up (one-page proposal in bioinformatics in an area of their choice), may apply
Traineeship
Applicants with a Postgraduate Degree in Life Science or Pharmacy or Computer Science or an allied discipline with interest in bioinformatics, supported by an evidence/write up (one-page proposal in bioinformatics in an area of their choice), are eligible
For both positions, the engagement will be on a purely temporary basis and the student/trainee will not be entitled to any claim implicit or explicit for permanent position in the University.
