    would like to take this wonderful privilege to invite you all to the 9thNational Symposium cum Workshop” going to be held during February 14th – 17th 2017, on the theme of “Recent Trends in Structural Bioinformatics and Computer Aided Drug Design” seeks to continue the good synergy obtained in the previous edition, providing a discussion forum from scientists, researchers, students and industrials about the latest ideas and realizations in the foundations, theory, models and applications for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research encompassing disciplines of Structural Biology, Molecular Biology, Structural Bioinformatics, Computer Aided Drug Design and Pharmacogenomics. In recent years, Computational Biology and Medical Informatics have seen significant advances driven by computational techniques making Bioinformatics and Computational Biology among the most vibrant research areas that could accelerate translational research comprising of the development and discovery of drugs against combating diseases that could enhance the livelihood and life expectancy of the individuals. The aim of SBCADD’2017 is to create a friendly environment that could lead to the establishment or strengthening of scientific collaborations and exchanges among attendees, and therefore, participation at SBCADD’2017 would provide an excellent opportunity to keep up with the cutting-edge research in such enlivening topics mentioned above and to network with other members of our community.     The college was established in 2004 in the sprawling CHM campus as a proud addition to the Institutes managed by Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board. The college initially conducted the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) course.  Over the years the college grew in strength, crossing many milestones and soon becoming well known for its discipline and high academic standards. With excellent infrastructure, committed and knowledgeable faculty, hard working non-teaching staff and a conducive environment for teaching learning process as its corner stones, the college built a strong undergraduate program.

    The Indian pharmaceuticals market is the third largest in terms of volume and thirteenth largest in terms of value, as per a report by Equity Master. India is the largest provider of generic drugs globally with the Indian generics accounting for 20 per cent of global exports in terms of volume. Of late, consolidation has become an important characteristic of the Indian pharmaceutical market as the industry is highly fragmented.

    India enjoys an important position in the global pharmaceuticals sector. The country also has a large pool of scientists and engineers who have the potential to steer the industry ahead to an even higher level. Presently over 80 per cent of the antiretroviral drugs used globally to combat AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome) are supplied by Indian pharmaceutical firms.

  • Conference on New Developments in Drug Discovery from Natural Products & Traditional Medicines at NIPER

    National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is an autonomous institute under the aegis of Ministry of Chemical and Fertilizers, Government of India. NIPER a premier pharmaceutical institute in India, was created in 1994 by an Act of Parliament of India and declared an institute of national importance by the government. The institute offers Masters and Doctoral programs and is the first national level institute of India in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research. The students trained at NIPER are highly regarded in pharmaceutical industry. The success of NIPER has facilitated the setting up of six more similar institute, which have already started functioning at Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Hajipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Rae Bareli.
