Central University of Gujarat (CUG) was established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 (No. 25 of 2009) to generate and disseminate advanced knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities, promoting innovation in teaching-learning process and research, establishing linkages with industries for application of science and technology and educate and train human resources for the development of the country. The University has territorial jurisdiction over the whole of the State of Gujarat and admits students on all-India basis. The University is looking for qualified, accomplished and committed faculty members who believe in institution-building and have a passion for academic excellence through teaching and quality research.

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with a proclaimed objective of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India has declared NIPER as an 'Institute of National Importance'. It is an autonomous body set up under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India.

Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, popularly known as CIMAP, is a frontier plant research laboratory of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Established originally as Central Indian Medicinal Plants Organisation (CIMPO) in 1959, CIMAP is steering multidisciplinary high quality research in biological and chemical sciences and extending technologies and services to the farmers and entrepreneurs of medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) with its research headquarter at Lucknow and Research Centres at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pantnagar and Purara. CIMAP Research Centres are aptly situated in different agro-climatic zones of the country to facilitate multi-location field trials and research.

Indian Institute of Technology, Ropar is one of the eight new IITs set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, to expand the reach and enhance the quality of technical education in the country. This institute is committed to providing state-of-the-art technical education in a variety of fields and also for facilitating transmission of knowledge in keeping with latest developments in pedagogy. The Institute conducts research in all frontline areas of Biological, Agricultural & Chemical Sciences. CSIR - Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR-CDRI) is a premier research organization under the Council of Scientific and Industrial research (CSIR). We are engaged in exciting research pertaining to understanding the disease biology of microbial and parasitic infections, ageing and metabolic diseases (including cancer) and discovery and development of therapeutic interventions against these diseases. CSIR-CDRI is a thriving institute with a wide range of expertise, infrastructure and a research-supportive environment.

The first hospital associated with King George's Medical University was built in 1914, and was called King George Hospital. The funds allocated to the college could hardly be expected to cover the cost of a hospital on a comparable scale. Thus this task was undertaken by the Government of India. The building was again designed by Sir Swinton Jacob after making a spot study of great medical centres in Europe and adapting it the needs of this country.
