Name of Project : “Valorization of Sugar Mill Wastewater and Bagasse Hydrolysate Through Two-Stage Semi-Continuous Mixotrophic Microalgae Cultivation for Enhanced Lipid and Lutein Co-Production (PID-7527)”

Duration of the Position : 03 Years (co-terminus with the project; continuation year-to-year subject to performance and availability of funds)
Eligibility : Essential Qualification: M.Sc (Ag.)/M.Sc./M.Pharm./M.V.Sc./Bachelor of Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech.) or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline (Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Sciences/Chemical Engineering or an allied field). 1st class in Graduate and Post-Graduate examinations (high academic attainment).
Desirable Qualifications
Hands-on experience in microalgae cultivation (batch, semi-continuous, or photobioreactor operation).
Knowledge of wastewater characterization (COD, TN, TP) and industrial/agro-effluent treatment.
Familiarity with mixotrophic cultivation, lipid/pigment extraction, or biorefinery processes.
Experience with analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC-MS, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, or FAME profiling will be preferred.
Good scientific writing and communication skills.
CSIR-NET/GATE qualified candidates will be given preference.
Salary : Rs. 25,000/- per month (consolidated) for the 1st and 2nd year; Rs. 28,000/- per month for the 3rd year, as per CSTUP norms and the sanctioned project budget.
Age Limit : Maximum 28 years as on 1st April 2026, as per CSTUP R&D guidelines.
Residential Eligibility : Only Indian citizens who are resident of Uttar Pradesh are eligible, as per CSTUP R&D guidelines.
