I.S.F. College of Pharmacy, Moga (Punjab, India), established in 1984, is a unique centre of excellence at all levels of Pharmaceutical Education offering all possible courses in Pharmacy viz. D. CSTRI is the only research institute in the country dedicated to the Research & Developmental activities related to silk technology. CSTRI was established in the year 1983 by the Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India. Till then, silk technology had only the status of a division in the sericultural research institutes in the country. Appreciating the need for a greater thrust on the demand side of the silk industry, the establishment of CSTRI was the first step in the right direction. Today, CSTRI is recognised as one of the Textile Research Associations in the country by the Government of India.

Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali (Punjab), an autonomous institution of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has been established under the umbrella of NANO MISSION, initiated by DST to boost research and development in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in India. INST started its activities on 3rd January 2013, the date on which its first Director was appointed. The institute is currently operating from its transit campus at Habitat Centre, Sector-64, Phase-X, Mohali, Punjab. The new campus of INST would be set up on 35 acers of land in the Knowledge City at Sector-81 (Mohali, Punjab), next to IISER Mohali campus, which is very near to new Chandigarh International Airport. INST, amongst other scientific institutions of Chandigarh and its nearby area is also part of Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC), an initiative of Punjab Government to foster and sustain close academic alliances between institutions of higher education and research in the Chandigarh region.

Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an institution of education, training and research is established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India under the auspices of UNESCO. The Centre will focus on cooperatively working towards shared biotechnology growth in the Asia-Pacific Region. Regional interactions in biotechnology will promote co-operation amongst the countries to develop necessary infrastructure and capacity building for economic benefit of our societies. The Centre would be beneficial in developing knowledge rich, highly skilled human resource to all countries in the region. RCB will be part of the Biotech Science Cluster (BSC) and will operate in synergy with the other institutions in the Cluster.
