Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali (Punjab), an autonomous institution of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, has been established under the umbrella of NANO MISSION, initiated by DST to boost research and development in the field of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in India. INST started its activities on 3rd January 2013, the date on which its first Director was appointed.

This Institute was established in the year from 1963 in IMPCOPS, Chennai with a motive to study the phyto-chemical aspects of medicinal plants in an around the city. Later Central Council for Research in Indian Medicine and Homeopathy had taken over this Institute as grant in aid. In the year of 1979, this institute became a part of Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (formerly Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic and Siddha).

Sana College of Pharmacy, Kodad, Suryapet was established in 2007. It runs B. Pharmacy and M. Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Analysis) courses. It is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad and recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).
