    The mass spectrometry facility is a core facility for scientists of the Bangalore Life Sciences Cluster (BLiSc) that includes inStem and the National Centre for Biological Science (NCBS) and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms which share a campus and research facilities. The facility comprises laboratories situated within the BLiSc campus. It provides services and training to a range of users. This position involves management and coordination of operations of the mass spectrometry facility. The head of the facility is expected to lead a team of staff whose work includes the maintenance of a facility with several state-of-the-art mass spectrometers and associated equipment. The role requires providing technical input into user projects, managing staff and work flow as well as the development and implementation of research grade experimental techniques using mass spectrometry. Training programs and outreach activities are encouraged.

The head of the facility is expected to manage projects in all of these areas and also develop and implement emerging technologies for research in the biomedical sciences. The head of the fly facility is expected to lead a team of up to ten staff whose work includes Drosophila stock maintenance and distribution, transgenesis and genome engineering. The head of the Drosophila facility is expected to manage projects in all of these areas and also develop and implement emerging technologies for research using Drosophila. Training programs and outreach activities are encouraged.
